For a while they were looked down upon, but look at them now, the same as everyone else. Why didn't/couldn't other minorities do the same? It's not skin color, Indians from India are respected.

There was part of a thread about Indian doctors being inferior. I owe you an apology. You're not as racist as I thought. You draw the line at Indians from India. That's a step in the right direction.

Look how they live...everywhere. Look how they're at the bottom...everywhere. What more evidence do you need? It's not racism when it's the facts.

The vote is what helps keep out the facists. Should we eliminate the vote?
Are you kidding? Who do you think you're voting for? The parties have absolute control.

The party leaders are facists? They control the money? They control who lives or dies? They control freedom of the press? Are you a Bernie supporter? He is an independent.

You disagree? Look at how Obama forced gay rights, black rights, Obamacare down our throats, we had no say. "We" elected a guy and he did what he wanted. That's "elected fascism".

Of course they control the money. When the Ds are in power, money goes here, when the Rs are in power, the money goes there. We don't vote on where the money goes.

They start wars, how many died in the Iraq war? Afghanistan? We didn't vote for war.

Of course they control the press. The press is mostly lies. Believe me, I know, can't talk about it for fear of the government, I signed a nondisclosure.

Libertarian. I believe people should be left alone to live their own lives as they see fit.

After 1860, many Irish sang songs about "NINA signs" reading Help wanted – no Irish need apply. (A variation was, Irish need not apply, or INNA).[26] The 1862 song, "No Irish Need Apply", was inspired by NINA signs in London. Later Irish Americans adapted the lyrics and the songs to reflect the discrimination they felt in America.

You never experienced discrimination if you were 10 when Kennedy was running for office.

You are trying to throw the "poor you" card pretending you have been a victim too.

I made a simply statement of fact...the Irish were discriminated against. My oldest brother was denied admission from medical schools because the "Irish" were to stupid to be doctors. He did finally get accepted to a medical school.... 4 of his children and grandchildren are also doctors.

It is in the Irish tradition to tell stories, as a child I wondered what some of them meant. As I got older sometimes a light bulb would go off as I realized what one of those stories meant.

I have no reason to throw the poor you card.....

But they're NOT discriminated against any more. They PROVED their worth. Why are the blacks not doing the same?

Why don't you go to the next meeting of The Villages AfricanAmerican club and ask them? They will be most happy to hear your views.

You think I'll glean some pearl of wisdom from them?

They'll just call me a racist and won't answer. Or, they'll blame this or that...them and those...it's ALWAYS someone else's fault.

I'd also ask WHY they moved here. I wouldn't move to:

East St. Louis, Illinois (97.74%)
East Cleveland, Ohio (93.39%)
Suitland-Silver Hill, Maryland (93.01%)

I'd feel very out of place.

Why would they come here?

In case you haven't noticed, a number of retired Tampa Bay Bucs are moving to The Villages. Why, you asked. Probably the same reason you moved here. And, by the way, they can afford it, and there is not a dang thing Mark Morse can do about it.

Donald Trump told Greta tonight that his 'Muslim ban' idea was just a suggestion. Clearly he is trying to walk it back.

Just like his bragging about 'self-funding' his campaign. He never had any intentions of self-funding a presidential campaign. He doesn't have that kind of money laying around.

And what's your point? Did killary say something valid or even pertinent to being presidential? Tell us all those wonderful suggestions that killary has. Oh, that's right, she doesn't need anything new because she said she is going to continue Obama's agenda. How lazy of her.

No wonder no one will vote for her. They must have heard her speak.

My point is that Donald Trump is changing his position on all the issues he has been campaigning on after only one week as the presumptive nominee.

In that one week he has backed away from banning Muslims, self-funding his campaign (one of the biggest applause lines at his rallies), the minimum wage, trade policy, etc. Brace yourself for the demise of the wall he wanted to build.

And don't forget his latest flip-flop on raising taxes on the wealthy.

On social issues, there's not a dimes worth of difference between Trump and Clinton, both support a woman's right to choose, both support health care for all. Trump's latest is cutting social security and Medicare, can't wait to hear those details.

Obama's top ten broken promises:

Obama abandoned his commitment to "unprecedented" transparency.
Obama has failed on his promise to close GITMO.
Obama failed to end the war in Iraq and finish the job in Afghanistan.
Obama broke his promise to pursue a "tough, smart and principled national security strategy."
Obama broke his promise not to raise taxes on the middle-class.
Obama failed to grow the middle-class and Americans' incomes.
Obama broke his promise to allow Americans to keep their plans and lower costs under Obamacare.
Obama failed to make immigration a top priority and pass comprehensive reform in his first year.
Obama failed to "nail shut" the revolving door of lobbyists working in his administration.
Obama broke his promise to bring both parties together to enact a bipartisan agenda.

I have found over a hundred broken Obama campaign promises, but that is too many to list.

Politicians campaign making lots of promises that they plan to keep but know they can't without congressional approval. They tell you what you want to hear. Chillary has been saying nothing, just screeching and that is why the low voter turnout for her. Even the Dems don't trust her, many of them voting for Trump in the primaries.
