Default How many think the President knew...

this was coming when he made his speech and said no health care for illegals....

"Liberals Seek Health Care Access for Illegals
A group of House Democrats say it's unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange"

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...cess-illegals/

It was suggested at the time but shrugged off as more right wing rhetoric !!

Default Of course he knew. It has been an agenda item and discussed for

months in congress.
My post of last week regarding Obama's mis-placed priorities, and my post commenting on watch what he does not what he says.

Relative to the illegals issue(s)....pure and simple....the latino voting block. Nothing else.

Relative to priorities....the economy, the war in Afganistan and jobs....
he is going to Denmark to lobby...you know campaign for the olympics to be in Chicago....however he has only talked to the commader in Afganistan once by phone in the last 70 days. Are we in a war or not? Did he not say this was his war or not?

Are his priorities correct? Absolutely not.
Number one priority is health care reform....currently in excess of 85% of we people are satisfied with our current health care....good bad or in different.

He is working on a 20% issue while troops are being killed?
He is working on the olympics while troops are being killed? Millions unemployed?

Most new Presidents improve within their first year as they labor along a very stiff learning curve. So far Obama or his administration or the mystical "WH" has not and is not responding to the needs of the people.

I really don't care what the political affilliation....he is not tending to the priorities of this country.

He definitely has his own agenda and his actions continue to make a mockery of the needs of we the people.

I said I would wait until his first state of the nation address to make a final decision on whether he will do what needs to be done. There is no need to wait that long.

As the old saying goes....actions speak louder than words. He is consistent.
He is NOT following his oath of office. Not even close.

In the universe of beings that constitute we the people, there is no distinction of who belongs to what party when all this feces comes outta the fan. We are all going to be affected.

I look forward every day for just one action that shows his commitment to the troops....to those that elected him....and of course the rest of us.

TOPPER.....You are aware of what is happening with Iran, right ? You are aware of what the President has said (as he said about other things) is vital to this country...health care reform, right ? You now are aware that HIS party is talking insuring illegal immigrants, right ?

Where is he....hawking the olympics for Chicago !

Not that the olympics in Chicago is not a good thing, but dont you thing he might want to stay in the office a few days ?

Oh did I mention the 6 month old Afgan strategy that Obama campaigned on and is now backing off (would you love to have a loved one over there putting their life on the line) but he is not going to worry about that.....he has to sell the olympics.

Heard someone say that he acts more like a front man than a President !

Sorry forgot the most important thing of course......ROFLMAO

If you meant that he is going....

President Obama will travel to Copenhagen this week to "seal the deal" for Chicago's 2016 bid for the Olympic games, the White House confirmed this morning.

A White House official tells ABC News that “it’s gonna take everything we got” to win.

The official added that the president feels the health care issue is in a place that his absence for a day is not going to have a negative impact. And so he’s taking the red eye on Thursday, arriving Friday morning “to seal the deal.”

The White House had previously announced that Michelle Obama, along with a delegation of White House officials with Chicago ties, would travel to Copenhagen to represent the administration and Chicago.

Mr. Obama will now join the first lady there, and is slated to speak to the IOC on Friday. He will return to Washington Friday night, the same day that final votes are cast.

And it may only be a short visit but I heard so much about Bush going to Texas and the "perception" it made.....with Afghan, Iran, etc what kind of "perception do you think this leaves !

Remember it was Sean Hannity that spread the rumor it was illegal for doctors to give the H1N1 vaccine to people over 65.

Personnally I think it is a risk for him.....if they don't get the games then it is a failure. No problem other than that....Bush took more vacations than Carter has little liver pills....but in the main I think that if he didn't go someone would oppose that.

And if you mean the actual moving forward to insure Illegal immigrants....

There is always two sides to every story...

"Washington Times misleads on healthcare, illegal immigrants"

http://www.salon.com/politics/war_ro...e_immigrants/T

Thus the substance is still nebulous and vague HOWEVER, it is being discussed...there are those in the Dem party who want it to happen. This AFTER the President made it "clear" it would not happen. You would think that those in his own party would have heard that !!

This may not pass but it is out there....and our President knew it and if it gained any traction he would be on it.

Another bill brought before congress you may like is the one about reading bills before congress....will make a thread on it

You have got to be kidding...we have NO strategy where men and women are being killed...we have Iran in a few days to deal with shooting missles and he is worried about the olympics ?

And I knew, because you ALWAYS do that you would bring Bush into the conversation.....wear your shirt proudly...!!!

Don't start....the t-shirt comment was in response to your posting about Kill Bush websites. And just which adminstration started these wars? Eight years of war and an overnight trip to Denmark will change what? If he doesn't go will the wars stop? Will no one be killed?

It's amazing to me that everything, EVERYTHING! our President does is fodder for hysteria on this board. He's going for what? One day??? I completely agree with Cologal. What is going to change in 24 hours! And yes, like it or not Bush was in Texas for half of his presidency and he was the one that started and escalated these wars!

As far as the illegals getting health care, I don't remember who said it on Meet the Press, but the gist of it was that there are many bills floating around and all the little nuances are being attributed to President Obama, even though they are not coming from him ... why don't you just wait and see what the final bill says instead of reacting to some bits and pieces. This is worse than Gossip Girl! Geesh! Fox News? Really? No credible source there for me at all!

And BTW BTK and all... puh-leeeeeeeeeease drop that "we the people" crap. Not only is it getting old... "we the people" are clearly divided in our goals and perceptions!
