Default I wondered why the lack of posts about the debate...

But not after reading this:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14396.html

I am glad I recorded it. Now I don't have to bother to waste the time to watch it.

I recognize it is one of many articles on the subject, but I also have not found one that has anything good to say about.

The common thread....both are dancing around the issues. Both are presenting nothing new.

Both have nothing of substance to offer.

Both are using political double speak to not answer the question.

A great time for one or the other to break from the pack.....and nothing!!!

Talk about more of the same........

Just an indicator of what either will not bring to the office of President of The US.

Default Boring

It was sooo boring. What struck me is that neither one of them had real solutions or plans. I couldn't tell the Socialist Markist from the Republican. I didn't see a Conservative out there. McCain was more like an old time Democrat before the left commandeered it. Obama is a scary in that I'm not of the Socialism ideology. He will make us into for former USSR.

So not good choices.

I wish I would have counted how often John McCain said "Yes, my friends". I was about ready to scream. I found it amazing how both candidates skirted around the questions and their answers only provided points each wanted to make. I will be so glad when all of this is over.

Default Did You Consider...?

...that the reason that neither candidate had very precise plans on what to do about the current financial mess, is that neither one of them has a clue?

I'm not even sure that's a criticism. If I were made king tomorrow, I wouldn't have any better ideas than Obama or McCain seem to have either.

Hmmm, seeing as though nobody has any ideas, maybe Sarah Palin wouldn't be too bad as President. She couldn't be any worse than anyone else seems to be. And she'd be a lot more entertaining. Think of the soundbite possibilities we'd get every night on the news.

Where's Richard J. Daley when we really need him?

Default The only fact the partisan bluster continues....

to mask is the simple fact the only losers in this election are the voters.

Clearly most non American countries have the advantage. Where there is not a two party system there is no need for who won or lost. The constituency accepts the fact they are the only losers. So we do share that.

Default The other point that bothers me significantly is...

both parties an the respective candidates are willing to sit idly by and watch the economic crisis continue to decimate value in their portfolios and life savings.

Both holding on to the hope they can come in as the White Knight (no racial slur intended...it is a common phrase in business deals) and save us all.

Now that the lawmakers have passed legislation whether it is bail out or rescue, it isn't enough to stop the slide down the slope.
Yet there is little being said about what else should be done.

Other countries are doing what they think has to be done....they aren't waiting for an election which is 30 days away....another 90 days away from taking office.

Yet we the people don't seem to be too bothered by it all. If it continues we the people will be bothered whether we like it or not.

As we approach the holidays watch what happens when we the people have the household purse clamped shut waiting for the White Knight to arrive.

So profoundly sad.

Just like AIG went on a toot with their settlement...the Congress and Senate will be going on another break. Their purses are a little more substantial than we the people.....so what's the problem?

That's not all. Pelosi just said she's going to call the Congress back before January to push through a $150B stimulus package.

What in the world is wrong with these people? The bailout wasn't bad enough? I'm not going to live long enough to recoup half of what I lost. This is worst than 9/12.

Throw them all out on 11/4. Their approval rating is 9% (lowest of any Congress ever). That tells me they don't care a wit about the people they work for, who supposedly is supposed to be us.

Default Winners??

Hah..Winners??? They're both losers...BIG TIME. BTK I'm with you.

How the public can listen to this pablum being handed out by these non-candidates is mind boggling to me!!

How can people like Mitt Romney who is ACTUALLY a VERY successful businessman be trumped for a dope like McCain?

How is it a candidate like Obama with all his questionable ties (documented by Jerome Corsi and others but completely swept under the rug by the mainstream media) who has said basically nothing except what the government should be giving us can win the minds of otherwise intelligent people?

Why does a candidate like Congressman Ron Paul who talked about our REAL problems for more than 2 years (which are now coming home to roost) get virtually disregarded???

Regardless of the cause, the current worldwide economic crisis trumps any of the blather the two "candidates" have to offer. Neither of them has offered any comments of substance to address the problem. This problem will push all of these issues to the back burner.

There are changes afoot with all this that will change our lives as we have known it and most people have a clue.

It's all very discouraging and infuriating

Captain, I loved Ron Paul!! I voted for Mitt because I knew a vote for Ron Paul was basically a wasted vote and I did not want McCain. Guess what?
