Bucco,

I don't care left from right, really. I tire of both, and want to hear good
solidly reasoned argument. I think Talk of The Villages' posters have a lot to
say and I want our members to see the well-reasoned posts. I don't want to
see either left or right baiting, and biting at the bait.

I have told my partners that same thing and I say that here. I have privately
and personally agreed and disagreed, while I have been reading this forum,
with right, left and center. I enjoy learning from opposing viewpoints.

And contrary to a statement I have read here, both left-side and right-side
posters have caused me to alter my own views on occasion, and I have liked
that a lot, both before and after the election.

I hope you understand my goal. I want to raise the level of argument, and
remove the quarrels.

If people want to fist fight, be my guest in Private Messages. This forum is
not on a short lease, as you put it. I am encouraging civility in the public
view.

And I want to learn more about what thoughtful posters think. Again, both
sides have changed my mind, and neither side impresses me with bickering.

Pulling the political forum might not make good business sense. Whenever I check the "number viewing" each forum, the political is usually first or second.

I was laughing at the web site that was in the link. Nobody laughs at threats, but they are part of the political landscape. From Palin, to Obama to our beloved Ronald Reagan...again nobody condones actions of that sort, but expressions are sometimes taken out of content.

I posted this generically....

Yesterday on the front page of the Denver Post it was reported that at a town hall meeting for a Maryland Democratic Congressman a poster showed up with the congressman hanging in effigy. At another Democratic Congressman's town hall his name was displayed on a tombstone.

MSNBC reports, via a video clip, a Missouri congressman reporting on the Democratic town halls he thought someone might get lynched. The crowd cheered!!! Later, of course, he said he wasn't suggesting they should lynched.

If this ratchets up will there be someone crazy enough to do harm?

My god...hasn't this dead horse been beaten enough.( I hope somebody doesn't complain about this expression and report me to PETA)
