Donald Trump celebrates Memorial Day by calling the city of New York and demanding that homeless vets not be allowed to sell merchandise in front of Trump Towers because it could harm his property values.

The law allowing homeless vets to sell merchandise on NYC streets is over 100 years old, but Trump wants them gone.

He's a businessman first.

More lies from the left. Nice try. Factcheck.org says different.

This is an old issue, not Memorial Day. Trump petitioned for the city not to allow any street venders on the same street as his building. And it is almost a year old issue. It's real cute how you said "homeless Vets" when no one said that.

Is that the way you want to win, by lying like your criminal nominee, Killary Klinton?

The issue arose again in 2004 when the regulations came up for renewal, and Trump continued his appeal, this time to then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
“Whether they are veterans or not, [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street,” Trump wrote to Bloomberg, the Daily Beast reported. “The image of New York City will suffer. … I hope you can stop this very deplorable situation before it is too late.”
The Daily Beast notes that “[p]eddlers were largely banned from Fifth Avenue, but they continued to sell their wares on the side streets.” The story includes a photo of a row of planters installed in front of Trump Tower to discourage vendors from setting up shop outside his building.

Trump vs. Veteran Vendors

We used to celebrate with a town parade. The kids, like me, would jazz up our bikes with balloons hitting the spokes and ride along the sides of the parade. After the parade the fire department took over the Acme parking lot and gave out hot dogs and beer. There was a band on a wooden bandstand and a few speeches. Those were the days my friend, I wished they'd............................................ ..............

Yup. the 50s, early 60s... The pinnacle for America. It's been downhill ever since. We'll be 3rd world within a generation. Diversity will destroy us.

I don't think so and that was my recollection. We weren't raised with fear and hate. I feel sorry for you.

[QUOTE=Guest;1233279]What difference does it make? Libtards are inherently disrespectful cowards and never listen to anyone that disagrees with them anyway. They just bait and scream louder than anyone else so you can't be heard. If you think that it is better to fight wars over here than overseas, then you are much more stupid than I give you credit for. But, I will give you the benefit of doubt and agree that your Democrat president should have thought things out better before entering into the conflict, knowing how bad the French fared when they occupied Vietnam. Liberals are famous for starting fights and then blaming the Republicans. I believe it was Nixon that ended our involvement in Vietnam. Hmm, and he was a Republican.

Since we are the power that attempts to balance the world scale, we sometimes get cries for help from other countries. If we are given the responsibility of greatness in this world, we should not ignore the rest of the world. /QUOTE]

It makes no difference on which political party had the US enter into Vietnam. We had no reason to be there.

Were the North Vietnamese going to invade the USA? Better to fight them in Vietnam?

Hmm, no mention of "homeless Vets."
How dare him to not allow vendors outside the door of his business! How many on here complain when a neighbor violates The Villages home owner property rules? You moved here because you didn't want your neighborhood to turn into the ghetto. And you don't want solicitors at your doors. Give it a break. I am sure you can come up with something of substance on The Donald if you look way back during his high school years. Maybe he bullied someone and gave him a haircut, or something like that.

Another liberal lie. That's like saying Hillary celebrates Memorial Day by calling the Benghazi victims' families and telling them the lie about the video being the reason their relatives died.

You think things are better now than then? Really?

I wasn't either, watching our country turn "dark" and 3rd world is what put the fear of our future and hate in me.

I feel sorry for everyone who is going to get screwed when "they" become the majority and everything falls apart.

Naw, it doesn't matter EXCEPT when Bush invaded Iraq, right?

A Democrat president got us into the Vietnam war, where we lost almost 60,000 Americans, but there's nothing here to see, folks. On the other hand, if a Republican gets us into a war where a couple thousand die, then you want him impeached and tried for war crimes. Very disingenuous.

Liberals, can't live with them and you can't deport them. :)

Donald Trump celebrated Memorial Day by attending Rolling Thunder at the Pentagon. The bikers supported him at his rallies, so he wanted to show his support on this day of remembrance.

And then the Rolling Thunder continued to bash John McCain for his time served as a POW. What's up with that?

You missed post #15. The blame was placed on LBJ's advisors and LBJ. That doesn't fit you narrative, does it? I'll find out soon enough how this will get twisted all around or ignored.

You say a "few thousand die" like it's nothing. Try telling that to the parents of these "few thousand".

It was announced very early in the Obama term that George W Bush would not be tried for war crimes, although he is still banned in several European countries and has not left the US since leaving office.
