Instead of being grateful for the fact that she's one of the few lucky ones to get a break in show business and thank the people that are responsible for her success, she foregoes that opportunity to make an ass of herself.

Meryl Streep is a great actress. Donald Trump is wrong on that account. But being able to pretend that your someone else does not qualify you to run the country. It does not mean that your opinion on how things should be done is better than other's opinions. It does not mean that you are smarter than everyone else. What it means is that you have a talent in a very narrow area and that you are one of the very, very lucky people with talent that happened to be in the right place at the right time.

There are millions of extremely talented people. The ones that become famous are simply fortunate to be discovered. They were in the right place at the right time. There are millions of guitarists that can play like Eric Clapton. I know, I've met and played with some of them. There are millions of actresses that can act as well as Meryl Streep. The ones that we know, like Meryl Streep, are simply lucky. They were in the right place at the right time and had someone "discover" them. That doesn't mean that their opinion is more valid than anyone else's. It just means that they are in a position to make that opinion known to a lot more people than the rest of us.

Meryl, shut up about politics and be grateful that you're one of the lucky ones. Continue to make great movies that entertain us but then keep your mouth shut.

Donald Trump was basically an actor when he ran for President of the United States. He is probably the least qualified candidate in decades to run for this office. And he happened to feed off the fear, racism and many other things in the air in 2016.

Meryl Streep is a caring and brilliant woman whose talent would have been recognized by pretty much anyone who saw her acting.

We will see what Donald Trump does with this opportunity given him by chance. I doubt if what he accomplishes is any where close to the life work of Meryl Streep.

Those criticizing Meryl Streep must approve of the way Trump mocked the disabled reporter. Trump insults our intelligence. He insisted that he never mocked this reporter. Anybody who has seen the tape knows this is not true.

Then his stooge KellyAnne Conway comes out yesterday and says "believe what is in Trump's heart, not what he says". This statement is too stupid to even comment on.

Streep has a constitutional right to speak her mind and has a big stage on which to do it. Posters who don't like it have the option of turning off the TV and/or boycotting her movies.
