I do agree that you need to look at a few news sources. Someone dismissed NPR and PBS without even looking or listening to the piece. Which is more terrible at our age, to live in fear or be wrong about an opinion? The same could be said for dismissing Fox News.

It has actually gotten worse. Our news is currently controlled by only five major corporations. ONE OF THE BIGGEST IS DISNEY.

In the late 1960's my father was cinematographer for CBS.
I've seen memos from MANAGEMENT about what they want to see/show about the RACE RIOTS. My father's company car came back with BULLET HOLES IN IT AND EVERY PIECE OF GLASS BROKEN. CBS showed a little old lady with a sign saying PEACE NOW. What is real? As you suggest that has always been who is telling the news.

TRUMP was taken to task about reporting Muslims cheering the 9/11 attack in NYC. THEY KILLED ALMOST 3,000 AMERICANS-INCLUDING 3-4 THAT I KNEW.
I PERSONALLY SAW A MOB OF YOUNG MUSLIMS CHEERING THE DEATH OF AMERICANS. I PERHAPS REGRET THAT I DID NOT RUN MY CAR THROUGH THEM. I DID DECIDE THAT HAD THEY BLOCKED ME I WAS NOT GOING TO STOP.
