I understand the logic behind it but this proposed law bothers me. My mother would not have been allowed entry because she did not speak English. Heck, she lived here for thirty years and her German accent was so heavy she may as well not have spoken English. The farms really do need the low-income workers. The price of our food would skyrocket without these workers. Refugees, even if in grave danger, would not be allowed. There would either have to be too many exceptions made (and another bureaucracy created) or it really would be whites only.

Roosevelt had a chance to save Jews pre WWII but said only those financially solvent would be accepted. Hitler refused to let them leave with their belongings. Ultimately, the Final Solution was implemented by the Nazis. I sincerely hope and pray that America never again puts money before lives.

As with many of Trump's proposals, the idea is not fully thought through and legalities are tossed to the side.

Nicely put Red. Trump does shoot from the hip often with his policy proposals. I know some very highly educated professionals in the Villages whose English is not exactly all the good but they are great at their jobs. Some of these were born in the US but just were in pockets of people who speak in their parents and grandparents languages rather than in English. Their proficiency is medicine and pharmacology.

Trumpanzee's wants are much different than what he will get.

The news (even Fox Noise) has reported that Congress has many more things on the agenda than this ridiculous idea. It also does not have many supporters in Congress.

Trumpanzee will be holding a rally in West Virginia and will be touting this plan. Those rednecks (his brain dead and in-bred base) will be cheering like it will happen. Ridiculous!

They can hire young people to do it. They can get welfare recipients to do it. WHY do we have people on welfare who can work and immigrants here actually doing the work? They REFUSE to work? Then we MUST refuse to house and feed them. F@ck them calling it slavery. It's NOT "slavery" to expect someone to work for their room and board.

Many countries have expelled the Jews...not just Germany. Let's be honest.

We DO put money before lives...every day...in many areas.

And there are MORE who arrive without English skills OR an education. THAT is what we must prevent.

Again...they're educated white people...not uneducated, needy, worthless colored people. Coming here with nothing but their clothes and NO skills. Well...maybe pharmacology...drug USE...not research.

1. When your mother came to America it was a different era. We have to deal with today's economic realities. We need people who can immediately take jobs and assimilate into our society now.

2. This proposal is a law dealing with permanent immigrants, not seasonal farm workers. They are dealt with differently.

3. Refugees would continue to be dealt with under different provisions, as they are now. They don't come in under our basic naturalization laws now.

4. The story of the Jews on the ship St. Louis is tragic. However it should be pointed out that the ship originally headed for Cuba, where the passengers expected to get visas to enter the United States. When Cuba cancelled the refugees' transit visas and denied entry to most of the passengers, the ship headed for the United States without visas. Accordingly, the ship was not allowed to land and the ship returned to Europe.

Of the 908 St. Louis passengers who returned to Europe, 254 (nearly 28 percent) are known to have died in the Holocaust. 288 passengers found refuge in Britain. Of the 620 who returned to the continent, 366 (just over 59 percent) are known to have survived the war.

THIS is the OFFICIAL ACCOUNT from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and differs from the claim that the Jews were excluded by President Roosevelt for financial reasons.

Dig for facts.

the proposed new immigration policy announced by president trump and members of congress this morning is already driving liberals crazy. Liberal news reporters were unhinged in today's press conference.

The proposed law would include:

1. The immigrant must be able to speak english.

2. The immigrant must be financially self-sufficient and able to support themselves.

3. The immigrant cannot go on american welfare.

4. The immigrant job skills must be above low-income levels.

5. The immigrant must want to assimilate.

the purpose of these rules is to avoid driving our low income workers into unemployment by having immigrants come in and take their low income jobs, and to avoid adding to the welfare rolls which affects all taxpayers.

I understand this is the first move to change immigration policy since 1965. Note that this proposed law is about legal immigration, not ongoing illegal immigration.

Although i'm sure my messages in support of this plan will fall on deaf ears with one of my senators who is a democrat, and my representative in congress who is also a democrat, i will send them (and my republican senator) a message today.

You could do the same.

Good!

Thank you, Carl, for bringing some truth and logic to this forum, devoid of emotional comments and name calling.......much needed and much appreciated.

We don't NEED anyone...we have enough here who COULD do those jobs...we ALLOW them to sit home and collect welfare if they CHOOSE not to work.

Do we REALLY want that? I'd MUCH rather have white people/white kids doing that work than minorities. Those people are there doing that work because we don't want "our kids" doing that kind of work. We spoil our kids. The blacks won't do it because it's easier to collect welfare. We had no choice other than to hire the Hispanics to do those jobs.
