Very much like politics....eh!

btk
Though I did point out in the intitial post that the racist email was the act of one individual, I can't help but feel it's symptomatic of a larger, more pathological feeling among a minority people easily led by the the Becks, Hannity's & Palins, Bachmann's and now the Trumps of the world.

The racism of that email is not the work of one person. It is meant to influence those who are currently being led by the thoughts of those like Beck, Hannity, Palin, Bachmann, Angle, and others on the right wing lunatic fringe.

The Birthers, conspiracy theorists, and right-wing fringe must just accept the fact that Barak Obama (an American) IS YOUR PRESIDENT.

Why not run David Duke as your presidential candidate?
You prove my point over and over. The only way the liberal progressive socialists stay in power is to defeat the Tea Party, and so you play the race card.

Now I'm going to go out on a limb and incur your anger once again by saying I flat out do not believe you on your depiction of what a supposed Tea Party Rep. told you. It is either a lie or the the person you talked to mis-represented herself, but I believe it's to be unadulterated nonsense.

I'm glad you perceive the Tea Party to be a such a threat to try to falsely paint it as racist and it engenders optimism on my part that your hopes lie in gutter politics.

Thank you for that, anyway.

I have a very good friend in that area, well connected and quite frankly not a fan of the racial makeup of New Orleans. Just weeks after the tragedy she told me that the plan was to rid NO of the lower 9th ward by developing new condo units to gentrify the area. I did also see an independent film made, by a NO film maker, regarding this issue. I had quite a discussion with her at the Colorado Springs film festival last year.

Even now the development of the lower 9th ward lags behind the rest of the city....what could be the reason for that? Lack of funds, lack of jobs and this was one of the hardest hit neighbor hoods. Its hard to say... Is there some element of race here, hard to deny that....but is it racism?
The problem is Liberalism. Liberalism destroys individualism. Liberalism killed New Orleans plain and simple. Everyone is standing around waiting for Uncle Sam to fix things and to make their lives better in New Orleans. New Orleans and Detroit's decline is the proof of what I say.

First to say that conservatives treat Obama with more respect than liberals treated Bush is really not true.
More importantly I'm growing weary of the constant effort to delegitimize the President. You lost in 2008 by alot, get over it. Painting the President as a non-citizen,a marxist,a muslim, the anti-Christ and a sleeper agent hell bent on destroying America is pure insanity. And worse you paint people who voted for him the same way and I take acception to that. 6 years ago I was called a traitor because I disagreed with Bush. Now I'm called a traitor because I agree with some of what Obama does.

He's certainly not the anti-christ and probably is a citizen. A Marxist for sure and Muslim? Probably. Hell bent on destroying America? Nothing he's done tells me otherwise.

I'd probably say same thing to a lot of Liberals... more recently in Nov 2010. They didn't take it too well in Wisconsin that's for sure.

Richie,

Incur my anger? No, you do not do that at all. If I was angered by this forum, I would just stop posting messages. I actually think you and I could be good drinking buddies. Do you over go to RJ Gator's at Lake Sumter Landing?

Yes, the incident happened at the Tri-County Tea Party tent at the Spanish Springs barbeque cookoff. The lady's husband apologized to me for her remarks. Maybe she had a bit too much to drink. I don't know.

I am not threatened by the tea party. From the candidates I have seen of theirs, most are ignorant. Not stupid, just plain ignorant. I would call Sarah Palin stupid. However, great business head on her handlers and able to parlay her very limited political life into millions of dollars by duping her listeners into buying her ghostwritten books and by giving canned speeches with no questions allowed.

I thank you and the rest of Palin's supporters because she will be a big reason for huge Democratic wins in 2012.

Glad you're dwelling in your fantasy land. You'll be crazed the day after election day, wondering how you analyzed this all so wrong.

I'll even buy you a round or two while you compose yourself. I actually hang at Urban Flats. Better happy hour and cuter servers.

Good luck with that. Obama is treated with far more respect from Conservatives than GW Bush was ever given from Liberals, and that's just a plain fact.
blame the "liberals" for this cartoon. You're so predictable. BTW, conservatives want to kill Medicare. That should go over well with the electorate in 2012.

I'm not blaming liberals for the cartoon. I think it's pretty childish and I don't like that kind of humor.

I'm accusing liberals of being hypocrites. Liberals did and said much worse about GW Bush. Even calling for his death. HYPOCRITES!!!; look it up if you don't know what it means.

A NEW LOW?

I wonder sometimes if the posters in political would like for people to see their side and join their efforts or just **** people off.

Some posters would get a failing grade in debate class.

When there is so much venom, all you get in return is disdain. I would think that the goal would be to win people over and change their minds.

Silly me. I need to stay out of here.

Sounds like some of the respondents are saying that as long as members of both parties have sent inappropriate emails that Racism is okay. You just need to hide it and call it something else. I've always said that the deep seated hatred for President Obama was far more than dislike of his policies. How dare a black man be so intelligent and uppity? For 150 years we've been fighting the same battles. Some of my friends are .....

Purposefully blatant misreading, and misleading.
