Link, please? I did see one (politifact) that says that is NOT true, however. Maybe you should expand your research efforts before posting. You wrote, "did I hear" - I try not to just believe hearsay.

A liberal site, but a quote is a quote. Be aware, this IS the game plan.

"
Price also noted that Republicans are eyeing using a tactic known as budget reconciliation to make the change. That process allows Republicans to pass bills with a simple majority in the U.S. Senate.

When asked by TPM about timing for changes to Medicare, Price said "I think that is probably in the second phase of reconciliation, which would have to be in the FY 18 budget resolution in the first 6-8 months."

Please re-read your last 2 statements and explain how having empathy for someone, at the same time chortlng at them, goes hand in hand. I must have missed something here (?)

Listen, I have "chorted" at people on here, and admit it was in anger and frustration.

When you read downright lies about anyone, or a boldface lie on an issue, you let people know and they find their lying and your frustration with it to be funny.

I get angry. I hate liars. Lying is different than disagreeing.

I cannot speak for the poster you reply to, but at times I read these lies, and realize that this person is well aware he/she is lying. They have no respect for truth, or other posters, and you try to envision what kind of person does this. What would make a human being have so little pride in themselves to get giggles from doing this....sometimes for me, that equals "chortle" and sometimes empathy.

It is amazing to me that instead of trying to make someone titter, or whatever reason, they could use this powerful internet work for them and not nvestigate.

Amazing how much more you enjoy politics when you understand the issues and can talk about them.

I guess I'm going to have to repeat myself one more time - I get that there are going to be changes. I don't think that is newsworthy since just about everyone knows that. My point is posters, particularly one on here, who continues to cry wolf about everything being stopped, ended, etc. Enough of the hysteria! Let's wait and see....what else can we do at this place and time anyway? I do know one thing though - ONE PERSON ALONE cannot fundamentally change important programs such as medicare and social security, so let's just see what happens before shouting the sky is falling.

JANMCN is no friend of mine. She and I have "tussled" many times over the years, however,

When she first browched the subject, she was greeted with verbal guffaws, and boasts of how Trump said...no way.

Then she kept at it, and because Trump said he would never touch it, she was in the receiving end again.

I gotta defend her. While you may understand the reality, many in here still believe what Donald Trump said about never touching these programs was true.

His recent appointment would actually be embarrassing now if he DIDNT do it. You must be understand that there are some who really believe what Trump promised, despite his track record, albeit early.

Sorry, I meant to type chortling. I remember you from the old political forum. I did not post then, and still don't very much now, but I remember you very well because I always admired your posts. They were usually very informative and I remember your enjoyment in engaging with others on issues and the back and forth that went on. But something has definitely changed and ever since you identified who you were, I have been trying to put my finger on it. I would like to think it's just the nature of the forum as it is today (which isn't that great with all the bickering) but I can't help but think it is in your interactions as well. You talk about people lying and point them out and it's obvious it makes you very angry. But some of those attacks I really didn't see them the same way. Sometimes people are just voicing their opinions or a summary of how they view things, and I don't see anything wrong with that even if they are incorrect in my opinion or inadequate in source information. At least it gives me food for thought....another way of looking at things perhaps, much like a conversation with someone. I would much prefer that type of interaction than the one liners or outright verbal assaults that some seem to use this forum for. Of course, this is JMHO, for what it's worth, but I enjoy conversation, debating, etc, and I don't feel that on an informal forum such as this one that we should have to worry about every "mistake" in conversation that we make. In fact, maybe, like in face to face conversation, we could be more forgiving and inquire of one's meaning instead of atttacking. Just a thought.

In the meantime, I hope you keep posting , but I think I much prefer your old style. 😊 As to your last line above, I totally agree. That's why I often try to do more reading/listening than responding as I try to understand more clearly all there is to know about the world and politics. Your posts in the past are what got me on this path to want to learn so many years ago, along with others on this forum - some still here and some that I miss.

I guess what this really is is a plea for everyone to be a little more respectful of one another - me included. Peace everyone and carry-on.

Thanks for your critique..I appreciate it.

I also understand and agree.

Nobody cares, but my total and complete distaste for Donald Trump is difficult for me to put into words. I abhor everything he stands for, and find him to be the single most failed human being.

I think that gets into my posts to those who support him, and thank you for noticing. When he boldface lies on twitter, and I read a supporting comment on here, and I know they have no clue he is lying, it simply riles me.

I would love to engage once again, discussing actual issues, but Trumps followers on this forum mirror him quite well. Uninformed and unable to put even a sentence together about any issue.

I believe Trump is very similar to Jim Jones in his complete lack of character and his ego.

I was aghast when he became the nominee versus a woman I could not wait to leave public office.

While I welcome what might be a conservative agenda to the White House, my fear if this man, along with Flynn and Bannon has no bounds.

I have also found that some if the posters from the past who labeled themselves and posted as such have moved so far right to the extreme.

They seem to be absorbed with such hate for Obama, they have completely lost sight of where they are moving. It appears I'm misunderstood how important race was and is to some.

In any case, thanks for calling this to my attention. I am sure my disgust over our President Elect becomes evident when I post to his followers. I just wish they might make an effort to learn, not only about the total and complete liar they are worshiping, but to understand the election is over and we should be discussing issues facing us.

Thank you...I will try to temper myself a bit, but still point out what I consider as untruths. I suppose I should simply tolerate those who are so found of cartoon.

Thanks again..,you are/were correct.

And thank you for your response as it helps me to understand better where you are coming from. In fact, you remind me of an old boss of mine, still a really good friend, actually more like a brother to me. He too is a very strong conservative and could not from the get go even consider voting for Trump. To this day I have no idea who he voted for because we just don't talk about it. As a conservative myself, I did not vote for Trump in the primary but eventually did when he won the nomination. I have my reasons for how I voted and he has his, we just don't judge each other based on that. I have family members all over the spectrum politically, but the only thing that kept us from all getting together over the holidays was me having the flu. We wouldn't allow politics to get in between us even though we've had some heated conversations about it. I feel blessed about that - just wish we could have more of that here. I guess we can keep trying.

Actually, I am a bit relieved that you are the only conservative here, that actually takes the time to research, provide links and explain how you came to your conclusions.

As a Centrist, I find it is much more work (but infinitely more rewarding) to actually debate a moderate conservative like yourself, instead of constantly reading emotional one/two-liners... with right-wing zealots.

While I don't expect to win over everyone on the 'other' side on an issue, I at least know that there is an appreciation of establishing the reasoning of taking a position...instead of the emotional petulance that we see from almost all of the Trump supporters here. :ohdear:

When I first started posting in this forum, I made the mistake of thinking...that I was dealing mostly with rational adults.

I spent the time and effort to use legitimate and respected sources (acknowledging when something was an 'opinion' and when is was an actual 'fact') thinking that surely in The Villages most were real adults.

I quickly learned however...that isn't the case.

Just for the heck of it, I did a little research on a couple of the most prolific posters in this forum.

Unbelievably, MDLNB shows 13,356 posts since he joined in 2012 (4 years @8.45 posts per day)...and yet NOT A SINGLE POST (just two started threads, with an original post only)..... outside of the Political Forum. :22yikes:

Add to that the fact that his posts down here do not even make an attempt at actual debate and the very rare links he provides, are primarily from fake news sites...and you have one very lonely and angry individual. :ohdear:

Which, once again, brings out more empathy from me...than anything else.

So now, I realize what I'm dealing with and just chortle as he and others...stays true to type. :D

Nice lie, but no one is going to believe anything you say. Obviously, you do not know how to do your research. Probably too lazy. MDLNB did not start out on the Political forum and has many posts outside this one. But, either you are fishing or just stupid. Probably the latter.

Very rare links? I will gladly compare the number of threads that MDLNB started compared to any that you even commented on. Your comments are only on the poster or on calling a conservative names. Oh, and your cute little emoticons that are so juvenile and girly.

So sister, perhaps you should clean up your own backyard before sticking your nose in someone else's business.

Do you really think everyone is as stupid as yourself?

It's simple to look up under 'Community' at the top of the header.

Of over 13,000 posts, you started two threads outside of the Political Forum...and posted in each once. :ohdear:

Every other single post (13,360) doesn't show...which means it is here in the Political Forum.

Thank you for proving my point that you're not only an ignorant idiot...but a flaming liar.

Wow, such a prissy little girl! Temper, temper.

The fact is that you are lying. But, suit yourself. No one cares but you. But, you are very wrong. I posted on here before I even bought down here. And I would gladly compare the threads that I have started with news articles against yours anytime. You must be pretty miserable. I guess you are no longer "living rent free in anyone's mind" now, huh? Karma's a b*tch when it comes back to bite you in the *** isn't it?

Try being civil and maybe you wouldn't be stepped on so much.
