Weren’t we told by Obama the auto companies had to be saved and that bankruptcy was not an option? Government must intervene he said. So he pumped billions of our tax dollars into Chrysler and they ended up filing for bankruptcy anyway. So in the end we really didn’t need to spend all those billions of our money on Chrysler.

Now I’m hearing that his union friends are going to end up with majority control in the company even though they have less money invested in bonds than the private investors. I’ll bet GM ends up doing the same thing. I smell a huge Obama rat.

So from a political standpoint it appears to be an epic failure. I think from Obama’s standpoint he’s getting exactly what he planned for. Government and union control over the big three… or at least the big two for now. Add in control over a few major banks that fund the auto makers and you have a nice little package for the government. Who’s business will be taken over next?

I also understand the tax cut for 95% of all American is gone too… another big lie. "If you earn under $250k you won't see your taxes go up one dime." Yet another lie.

Just wait until the tax increases hit the middle class and watch what happens to the economy and jobs.

Obama owns this economy now and from where I sit I see nothing but a huge failure. The economy is still tanking and his policies have done nothing to help and in fact will continue to damage far into the future and our kids future. You can’t blame Bush forever… It’s Obama’s baby now and he’s making a mess of it.

Next on the list? The health care takeover. I’m sure the government will do a fine job running it. Just look how well they did with social security. Oh I forgot... it’s bankrupt too.

Hold on there, Sparky. How soon you forget that GW his own self was The President when the initial bail out was fashioned, and it was he who refused to set any benchmarks or timelines...basically he just wanted the hell out ASAP so he could leave this steaming pile of doggie doo on the next guy's lap. Like two wars, a trillion dollar deficit, and a global economic depression. 100 days later, it's all the new guy's fault.

yeah, right.

I believe it's called selective amnesia.

I might add, since from your short personal "shots" at folks and your generalizations, that you dont read much...it was on the Times bestseller list the first week published and frankly speaks also of right wing groups. But then again.....I keep forgetting if YOU dont agree then we all are nut jobs !

David Horowitz (former left-wing radical and Black Panther) is not high on my "must read" list.
But, if you enjoy conspiracy theories...go for it!:beer3:

I already made my feelings clear about Bush. Obama dog piles on 10 fold and we're supposed to cheer because he's Obama?

He took Bush's screw up and elevated it to unbelievable proportions. Add on a radical left wing agenda the likes of which this country has never seen and you have a recipe for disaster. A perfect storm as on person here put it.

Also don't forget that Fannie and Freddie were major players in the collapse and that blood is on no one's hands but the democrats who controlled it and blocked every attempt to fix it.

The very same people are now spending and wasting trillions more of our tax dollars all the while conning people into believing that they the government still hold the solutions to fix it. All we need to do is keep printing money... trillions of it.

50-50 might be what the spin doctors would like

the rank and file to believe....if not from them them from whence dist the 50-50 cometh?

.

Oh yes, of course. I do remember all of those press conferences and prime time Presidential addresses to the nation, 8 years of State of the Union addresses, warning us of the excesses of the banking industry. How could I forget? Well, because it never happened, that's why.

How easy some do forget. Or could it be the main stream media doesn't report it. Funny how all those same people that blocked attempts to fix it back then and said there was absolutely nothing wrong are now the same one's that say they have the only solution to the problem they caused in the first place. And for the icing on the cake they want health care too.

Well, you should not be so quick to dismiss things WITHOUT EVEN READING THEM !!! Check the webpage I gave, which I admit is a bit radical, but tell me which part is not true !!!

As far as Obama's training and background it is all established fact and not a conspiracy that he idolized Saul Alinsky and practiced all of his rules while a community organizer.

Oh, wait a minute..unlike most of us...you are a PARTY man...you care only whether the person has a D or R after their name....never mind !!!

The main stream media doesn't report Presidential Addresses, or State of the Union Addresses?? I never realized that. And in 2004, when we were "warned" by Bush and McCain, who was President, and furthermore who was in control of Congress? The answers are G. Bush, and the Republicans. And what were they doing? Deregulating, Deregulating.

It was their watch. Barney Frank is an idiot. But your first sentence read "Weren't we told by Obama that the auto companies had to be bailed out" and the answer to that is "No, we weren't, we were told by PRESIDENT BUSH."

The basic problem is one of the oldest in the books: Democrats are mind swept to TAX and SPEND, PERIOD! As Michael Savage, of the Savage Nation has said, "Liberalism is a mental disease."

and that is why we went from a balanced budget under Clinton to a trillion dollar deficit under Bush.

Got it. Thanks.

Here we go again

in the did not...did to....did not....did to mode of blame who for what and when.

I do believe as was posted earlier that opinions and conclusions are made soley based on the R or D affixed to the individual being discussed as as well as the individual discussing. And unfortunately logic or facts usually have little participation.

I am always amused by those who think they can isolate anything in politics to one person or one party or a given time frame.

It is like being POTUS in the fall and being blamed (or congratulated) for the brown leaves....ditto summer or winter....

Let's see how well Obama is doing in the twilight of his term (year 3 or yrar 7) since the style seems to be to only rag on about the last 12 months of an administration.

What we need is a good old fashioned discussion....NON PARTISAN ONLY....uh-huh!!!

So everything in the videos are totally glossed over and dismissed as though they never happened.

Quote:

And what were they doing? Deregulating, Deregulating.
They both make it crystal clear what the score was back then. Bush, Greenspan and the Republicans in congress said over and over we were heading for trouble. The Democrats said no we are not and blocked every effort to investigate and regulate. One even called it a witch hunt. Did no one glean any information from the videos at all?

Quote:

and that is why we went from a balanced budget under Clinton to a trillion dollar deficit under Bush.
And then Laker14 leaves out the last piece as though it doesn't even exist either.

And then a 10 trillion dollar deficit under Obama.

So it would seem logical to me that if you like Clinton for the balanced budget, dislike Bush for adding a trillion or so to the debt you must hate Obama for adding trillions and trillions more on top of that...right?

To understand the solution you have to understand the cause and that will tell you who to trust for the fix.

Here the kicker. In last few seconds of the video Bill Clinton HIMSELF blames his own party for resisting efforts to fix Freddie and Fannie by the Republicans. Resist efforts = not one Democrat in congress voted for it. NOT ONE!

Guess what???? Freddie and Fannie failed and here we are today.
