Right, I doubt if the Secret Service check out the cutlery offered at some function ahead of time. This is probably how they have done it over the last few decades so I would not try to put this on Obama. That's like trying to blame Obama for the extent of contraceptives at some hotel in Columbia. I do hope they was more planning though in that affair by the Secret Service.

Gee, thanks for clearing that up. It's so much better now...........ha ha |
It seems that some posters on this forum are more concerned with President Obama's huge advantage over Mitt Romney with hispanic voters than they are with the use of silverware. To suggest that the secret service confers with the president before every event to get Obama's suggestions for his security is complete lunacy. The secret service's job is to protect the president.
Ask yourself, which of Mitt Romney's policies would hispanics applaud? Five trillion dollars in tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires? Increasing taxes on all others? Repealing the Affordable Care Act? Repealing the Dream Act? Defunding Planned Parenthood? Privatizing public schools? Supporting self-deportation? Saying that ending the Iraq was was a "tragic mistake"? Saying that corporations are people? Saying that he likes to fire people? Romney needs to win 40% of the hispanic vote in order to have a chance of winning this election. Which of the above are winning issues? |
To the administrator....
I have reported the last post on this thread as being totally unrelated except as a ploy to do political advertising. If this is allowed, ie. to allow a beginning phrase and then a sheer political ad to follow, please let us know. Those of us who attempt to discuss an issue OR respond to a post should be aware so that perhaps we may want to take this up also. In addition, it would be nice to know that during the elections season, the board will even be more polluted than normal with the little quick ads for one candidate or another whether they relate to the supposed issue presented in the thread ! Thanks |

Protection does not matter whether it is elected Hispanic leaders or the Future Farmers of America. Precautions have to be taken in every situation. |

Forget the hispanic vote - Willard knows this is a lost cause. He has no chance to win this group. CO, NM, and NV are blue. Willard and his genius advisors are now going to suck up to the old, Midwest, conservative whites. Of course, MI is also too blue for Willard to have any hope there, and OH is very close. Thing is, even if Willard wins Ohio, Obama is still over 300 EV. |

i thought it was pretty funny that the article richielion originally cited explained that the kitchen served the chicken PRECUT for the guests! lol thought about when my mother used to cut up my meat for me, too! ;) janmcn - i thought it was politically incorrect to interchange hispanic and latino? - since not all of those from latin nations are hispanic and not all hispanics derive from latin nations? no? i was once called to task by a group of latinas for interchanging the terms! |

PS I emailed my friend from Duluth. He states the floods have done some very serious damage estimated at over $100,000,000. Most people without flood insurance state and federal officials there assessing the situation. My friend had a taste of water in his basement but otherwise is safe. |

Or is it still only Latinos who are suspect around the President with sharp metal objects? |
