I feel so free that you do not need facts anymore...wow |
To post that the President any president can have an effect on gas prices is ignorant period.

I would hope that they would do a lot of reserach on this pipeline plan for environmental reasons before committing themselves to it. That is something that needs a lot of vetting. |

Janmcn--According to Investors.com it was future energy secretary Steven Chu who said, in 2008, "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gas to the levels of Europe." At that time gas was $8.00 a gallon in Europe. I remember Obama echoing this statement, but I could be wrong.

I'm sorry if you would have liked the buried to stay buried. Our president's formative years carousing with the communists and the racist professors and ministers.......Ah, the good old days. |

Richie: I'm about the same age as Obama.
You could find a LOT of stuff about me from when I was college-age that has NO bearing as far as my opinions now. (Except maybe for the fact that, having had those opinions and having them changed shows growth) I was a Democrat until a many by the name of Roy Stone said to me "What makes you think the government owes you a living?" I was ardently pro-life until I discovered how we treat women who give their kids up for adoption, before I learned of hidden agendas and before my own experiences showed it wasn't so simplistic an issue. I used to think we should get back on the gold standard until I realized that there isn't enough mining on the planet to come up with enough gold to 'back' the increased economic output of a modern worldwide economy. So we DO need 'fiat money', as Ron Paul puts it. I used to be against nuclear power until I got more facts (there was a lot of protesting here in NH when Seabrook Station was being built and the Clamshell Alliance was protesting) I used to be totally against any kind of socialized medicine - until profiteering insurance companies and working in a hospital started disillusioning me - and then seeing what goes on in Canada and in Europe, followed by the statistics that show how far behind we've fallen. The idea still turns my stomach but I just can't argue with the results and hope for some sort of 'hybrid' system (like France and Switzerland have) When I was 18, I was working, taking college courses at night and wondering if I'd ever find a good woman. I'm 49 now. I'm a VERY different person. |

Thanks for the bio, but there's no evidence that Obama is a different person and actually the opposite is true. The circumstantial evidence is that these formative communist underpinnings are most likely the basis for his socialist utopia ideas of today. |

Not sure that I, who was not asked, can respond in a respectful manner, but we all change...and that change when your life is reviewed is obvious for the most part. To compare your life to Obamas is a bit of a stretch as he has been working in a political arena and NOTHING else. He has been aspiring for office all his life basically. He has been developing a political philosophy all his life and nothing much more. To be associated with the people he has associated with CLOSELY and INTIMATELY while practicing politics is a bit different. He set up a core of beliefs that he has manifested publicly and privately and that core came from an interesting cast of characters. I am trying to respect your life and I hope you get my point....and there has never been an attempt to hide any of your past...which is normal because there was no reason to. |
