Read about Odinga,who by the way is said to be Obama's cousin and what his attitude toward women. And the fact that Obama campaigned in Africa for him. Please read everything that you can find about him before you vote.One last fact,would you give up a church just because it wasn't popular with the rest of the world.He knew what the church stood for before he ran for president,I guess there he is not any better or worse than anyother politician. Trying to keep with facts here....I do not believe most of the rumors that circulate on the net about Sen Obama....I have however done considerable research on him and his background and training, which IS IMPORTANT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS SINCE THERE IS NO HISTORY OF ANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS !

Folks keep saying that he is a CHANGE......change for/to what ? Do you really want change just for change sake ? I sure hope not. Sen Obama is a great orator but consider him as a socialist marxist thinker in the White House with a liberal Democratic congress. It just scare me to death.

First I spoke of AN ACTUAL BILL HE HAS BEFORE CONGRESS RIGHT NOW....the Global Poverty act. How is this MISINFORMATION ?????

This is Sen Obama s problem....if you talk issues it is deflected (this is why he will not have the open forum type discussions with the voters that Sen McCain wants)....if you dont talk issues then you are "making things up" or you are "playing the race card"

I have asked the Lord Obama supporters for weeks to explain even one issue or policy or plan he has and the response is always the same, name calling and disbelief that you could hold such misguided opinions of Lord Obama. Thats it , we're off in the mist.
I wish McCain would come out and say We're going to take Microsofts profits,or General motors profits or tax unions profits or 3M profits or ALL the above profits and give ALL of us 1000 dollars back for spending money after all who do they think they are building, suppling and distributing products we need and want anyway and employing people? the nerve. I engaged in this forum simply because it was becoming obvious, at least to me, that no matter what is said, you are berated or made fun of. Now, that does not excuse anyone from lying about any candidate or spreading rumors with no substance at all but it just seems if you attempt to discuss ISSUES, FACTS or anything else you are dismissed with a snide remark or some accusation.

Listen, the country is ready for a change....I welcome that feeling...but to change just for change sake with absolutely no thought of whom you are giving the keys to just seems short sighted to me. It is very frustrating to be lectured on how to talk by folks who use even worse allegations when they respond. Sure makes you wonder !!

It's apparent to me that your not willing to have an intelligent discussion on the issues. But you preach to others?

I am not condemning him for cheating as much as I am the timing. Things happen in life. His timing though, is inexcusable.

In my opinion and many folks disagree with me but CHARACTER is a very important part of the formula in deciding who to vote for. Edwards cheated and lied not only to his wife and family but to the american public and the Democratic party as he DENIED THIS ON CAMERA MORE THAN ONCE.

Yes, as some will say,this is a private affair, EXCEPT when it becomes part of the campaign and part of the character of the candidate. Nobody is in a position to make announcements of good or bad without examing and discussing.

I have been made fun of because I brought up CHARACTER issues or at least POSSIBLE character issues....those who no longer care about the character of the person in the White House are quite troubling to me. I do not circulate internet rumors, etc. but I do examine FACTS.

I suppose that this story which I hope dies quickly proves that we should not dismiss what we hear as just stupid internet rumors without examining them as much as we can.

I always thought the National Inquirer was a nasty rag and have never purchased one.. I heard several years ago, though, that if you see political in the Inquirer, you'd better listen up. More often than not , it is based in fact. Even the sleezy mags get it right sometimes. In this case, they really got it right. Now he denying the child but admitting the affair. How sad for the child...and how sleezy of Edwards.

I have never read the Inquirer myself and doubt that most of the headlines you see in the markets or wherever have a lot of substance, but the Edwards story like some others has been sort of seething underground for quite some time. As I say, he denied the accusation on camera but you kept seeing stories of one sort another all over various of the many many internet sources.

I do not ordinarily post on the Political Forum; in fact, I rarely even read it. What I'm posting now has nothing to do with McCain, Obama, and politics but does have everything to do with character:

It is now over two weeks (August 3) since this thread was started by SABRMnLgs with false, even libelous information, whether or not he/she was aware of doing so at the time, the falseness of which was clearly established in the second posting to the thread on the same day. Even the captain who was 'outed' on what he had done, whatever his motives were, apologized for lying. Out of curiosity I have waited all this time to see if SABRMnLgs would express any apology, humility, regret, acknowledgment of what he/she had posted, and to date there has been no subsequent post by him or her.

Does this tell us something about ourselves that all of us need to be cognizant of?...

I have been critical of Sen Obama but there is nothing in his background at all to show that loss of freedoms would occur. That, to me, is simple inflamatory talk without any substance.

Oh get a grip....his father left him he was raised in Hawaii. (I would have loved that) His family is in Hawaii...his grandmother and sister. He has a half brother in Africa he only met once. Some blogs are trashing him because the brother lives on $1.00 day. Why doesn't he help more is the cry...

I remember hearing his same thing when Kennedy ran.....I was just a mere child but I still remember he was going to hand the US to the Pope.

If you like the way the country is being run then vote for McCain he is your guy...but do it for the issues not out of fear.
