attending the graduation of our granddaughter becoming a Marine. The largest graduationg class they have had in many months...they are usually full up evry graduation but this time 30% more.

There is nothing more spectacular than to witness that many young people VOLUNTEERING to protect what we hold dear. The commanding General of Parris Island asked us all to pass the word the quality of those who sign up and go to become Marines is as high as it has ever been. He indicated there was some chatter by the uneducated in the subject to spread the rumors that only the dreggs are in our armed services. Only an idiot (me talking) would say something like that about our young men and women serving to protect our freedoms.

They are proud to be sent where ever they need to go to seek out and destroy those who would harm Americans.

It was interesting to see how much of the training is now urban fighting with special villages and facilities. For advanced desert training they go to 29 Palms California and live and play war games in the desert day and night.

It is too bad out representatives in Washington are not of equal caliber in defense of this great country.

A loud OOOOorrrrahhhh!!!!!! to all the new Marines as well as those in harms way.
