Man, you said it brother. My wife and I started from scratch (second marriage for both of us) while we were in our early 30's. Small apartment. I worked nights to put here through college. She worked nights and weekends as a waitress. It took 5 years of 60 hour work-weeks before we could save enough for starter home.
No sympathy for free loaders. Plenty of entry level jobs. Look at the Apple founder. No college and started business in family garage. He created thousands of jobs and made live better for millions. This is a great country.
We need to restore the spirit of free enterprise and get those bums out of Washington.

Bloomberg: Protestors trying to destroy city's jobs

"(Reuters) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg accused anti-Wall Street protesters on Friday of trying to destroy jobs in the city, even as he said he was sympathetic to some of their complaints.......

"What they're trying to do is take the jobs away from people working in this city," Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show, adding that the protests "aren't productive" and weren't good for tourism.

"If the jobs they are trying to get rid of in this city -- the people that work in finance, which is a big part of our economy -- go away, we're not going to have any money to pay our municipal employees or clean our parks or anything else."..........

Wall Street is the pillar of the New York state economy, making up 13 percent of tax contributions.

"The protests that are trying to destroy the jobs of working people in this city aren't productive," Bloomberg said. "At the same time I'm sympathetic to some of their complaints." "There are some people with legitimate complaints."

The protesters are angry about the 2008 Wall Street bailout that critics say let banks enjoy huge profits while average Americans suffered high unemployment and job insecurity......

Bloomberg's comments came a day after President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden acknowledged the frustration and anger of the protesters.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has also said he understood the anger being felt by the protesters but had to balance that with the economic importance of Wall Street to the state."

If they are so angry at the 2008 Wall Street Bailout, why don't they protest their PALS, the Democrat Congress that approved it for their pals like Clinton's former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, head of Citibank????

Let's see liberals and the liberal media wait with baited breath to jump onto anything they remotely can steer toward acts of racism or homophobic allegations but praise Wall Street protesters who demonize bankers and brokers. This is a dangerous game. being played by Obama who is maintaining an arms length distance or lease the appearance thereof.

Watch the liberals try to equate these protesters with the Tea Party movement.

The biggest difference is that the Tea Party is about restoring America to its greatness while these protesters are playing class warfare.

We all pay the monthly fees which allow us to access the rec centers, executive golf courses and swimming pools. We all pay the same based on the size of the house but not based on the amount of time spent in The Villages. So as snowbird I help to pay for these services even though for 5 months I have absolutely no access. This keeps the fees low for the entire group.....

You, would have to assume, take Social Security and Medicare as well as the new Medicare Drug plan. All of these are socialist programs. Now you are going to come back at me a say "I paid all of my life into these plans" Nope you didn't....not the drug plan. So if you are using the Medicare drug plan then you are accessing a socialist plan.

Here's a big difference, @cologal. I'm not using Social Security or a government drug plan. I currently own three houses in TV. Just sold another one two weeks ago. Last month, I paid amenities fees, garbage and water/sewer and electric for four houses in TV. I did it by choice because I saw a capitalist opportunity. Not because I was forced. And I hope we make money on the next house we sell in TV. I've employed many contractors and gave my money to the lowest bidder with the best references. I've weeded out some I won't use anymore. I don't think that is a Socialist economy. Is it?

Sounds more like greed the way you explain it. i.e. If you have lots of money to start with, you can take advantage of some poor souls that are desperate to sell and and other poor souls that are desperate for work at any wage.

It sure wasn't a socialist who built this beautiful place. For the record, I take no drugs except an inexpensive statin for cholesterol control.
This country has been heading toward socialism for years, especially Johnson's failed war on poverty. When you take taxpayer's money and give it away to layabouts and unionized thieves, you get countries going bankrupt, which is all over the globe.
