Default Politicians Are Corrupt

If all Americans generally agree that all Politicians are corrupt why do liberals want bigger Government which lets the corrupt politicians run their lives.

Common sense should prevail with Liberals But for some reason it does not in this case. Is it because liberals want to be in power regardless of whether or not we are controlled by the government.

Gosh, I'd love to live in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood too, but it doesn't exist. Have you looked around lately??? It's not only politicians that are corrupt (and to say "all" is seriously a blanket statement). There is corruption on Wall Street, in the corporate world, in the blue collar jobs, in the police force, our medical community, the insurance companies, from the streets of the cities to the back roads of rural America. There is an underlying thread of corruption everywhere! I'd love for it to all go away... but, I don't live in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood -- I live in reality!

It is what it is. And we can only do, as individuals, what we can to rid our nation of this. As I've stated before, America has become greedy, bloated and it's a "what have you done for me lately?" mentality. Once we start looking at things realistically, maybe, just maybe, we can start to clean it up.

Default The answer is easy (from my perspective).

We have been and continue to be a more permissive, more tolerant society.
Compounded by the fact that the majority of Americans just will not stand and be counted. They will not demand their representatives in Washington do their jobs. They will not attend corporate annual meetings to express their needs, fears or accusations.

The special interest/lobbyists/minority groups/race and minority groups/non racial know the average American will not rise up against an issue that affects Americas core values.

We have become the NIMBY (not in my back yard society).....as long as it is not in my back yard and does not affect me directly (yet).....the average American will do nothing.

Therefore, all that we say we dislike.....really has not much opposition.

Such a distorted state of affairs.....the majority just continues to accept what is dealt. How pathetically sad.

1. No retirement benefits for elected officials other than the President and VP.

2. 2 terms max for all.

3. Pay no higher than average US pay.

4. We need elected officials who want to serve the nation, not feather their own nests.

I'd like to say no lawyers may run for office but then there would be a glut of lawyers trying catch ambulances.

That should do it.

Because liberals understand that the end justifies the means.

But they don't have the power to levy taxes, tap your bank accounts, regulate you and MANY MANY other things the government does.

When was the last time Wall Street mandated that if you didn't buy one of their products you'd pay a huge fine or go to jail. The Obama administration is trying to do just that.

There's quite a big difference between federal government power and private sector power.

If I think a company is corrupt I simply don't do business with them if at all possible. How do I stop doing business with the Feds?

Chelsea,I've disagreed with you on many things, but in this case you hit the nail on the head. As Pogo once said, "We have met the enemy and he is us."
