If you can get that message to those whose entire lives are spent trying to kill you, me and all of us.....then I am with you !!!

Unhappy

The only legitimate reaction to this farce is laughter. Theoretically, and according to their own web site, every year since 1901 the Nobel Prize has been awarded for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and for peace. The key word there is "achievements", something Obama most certainly lacked. Obama merited being awarded the Nobel Prize for achievements for peace as he did achievements in animal husbandry.

Diplomacy is another overlooked way of achieving peace. Our President has many gifts, and he could have easily been a foreign diplomat as he is a President. Do you forget how many people showed up in Germany to listen to him? Words can be sharper than any double-edged sword. As a leader of the free world, our President shows promise to gain back the respect we lost as a country during the Bush administration. Don't you think that's important? Remember the table was already set by Bush before our President ever entered the scene.

It is your opinion that we lost respect during the last administration !

We do not need to be liked...that should never be the goal !!!!

WORDS are nice...this President speaks nice pretty words. I will support him in foreign affairs as long as the motivation is to protect our country, not be a rock star which is ALL he has done thus far.

We have Afghanastan...we have Israel saying if no sanctions by Christmas they will attack Iran.....we have Iran getting what they want thus far; one on one with the USA....talking pretty is not going to cut it..your love and support for the President is nice but without any merit thus far. It always seems that those who support this President have an obligation to mention the last President....That pulling of the defense system was lauded as getting the Russians to support us in Iran...dont see that happening and in fact they today said they were "puzzled" by the new USA defense system.

My point is not to criticize the President....I will support him, but there is NOTHING TO SUPPORT THUS FAR EXCEPT PRETTY WORDS !

As for diplomacy....great thought, but PLEASE give some thought to those you want to use that tact on....read history about all the FAILED attempts at such actions ! You dont mention the attempts at negotiations and diplomacy that have been tried and failed ! You ASSUME that it failed because of the last President !

Arrow Big Difference! Huge!

I don't have to guess at how the world saw us during the last administration as opposed to this one. I traveled abroad several times and there is a vast difference between the pure hatred of Bush and the hope that President Obama brings. Wonderful support for Obama coming from all parts of the world. It's sad that a handful of American's cannot feel the same.

“Words are the voice of the heart”

You don't care if America is "liked"??? That's awfully arrogant! I absolutely want us to be admired by the rest of the world again. I'm sick and tired of us being looked at as the bullies on the block. Don't fiddle while Rome burns.

Guess who this quote, from a CNN/Gallup poll, was referring to....

"The president continues to be highly regarded. By solid majorities of 65 percent or more, those surveyed said he has a vision for the country's future, has brought dignity back to the White House and is a strong leader willing to make hard decisions,"

I have no NEED for this country to be admired by the rest of the world...if that happens as a result of our actions, so be it, but it SHOULD NOT BE OUR GOAL.

Our goal should be what is best for the United States of America !

By the way, the quote was from a CNN/Gallup poll in 2003 right after George Bush made a Thanksgiving visit to troops in Iraq referring to the person I think you may have referred to as evil !

Default Hate Crime

On friday Nobel committee men as much as admmitted they committed a Hate Crime when awarding Obama the prize for no "achievement".

They said they were pleased with their selection because it made them feel good to throw this in the face of Bush.

I lived in Europe in the 90's. They didn't like us then either. The only time Europe has any use for the United States is when they need our help.

Default All one needs to do is google nobel peace prize qualifications!!!

Review what one must accomplish to be a candidate. The only conclusion one can reach is.....what did he do to earn their recommendation? He certainly did not get it for being a continuous candidate or perpetual campaigning mode.
He certainly did not get it for his presidency as he was in office less than a month when the nominations were closed.

So for most thinking persons around the world the question remains......for what?

Some Obama supporters don't seem to get the message...it has nothing to do with being black! or being a Democrat! or being POTUS!

It has to do with the reality of the once upon a time high criteria of the prize itself. Seems that has been watered down to allow nebulous nominations.

Yet another poll. But, even if true, extremely short lived.

It is true but agree it means nothing.

My point is WHY in the world should this country make policy to insure we are liked by the rest of the world. As I said, if that happens as a result of our policy that is great, but we better make policy with only CENTRAL THEME.....what is good for this country !

Ask these other countries if they'd admire us more if we left them COMPLETELY alone. The US has spent and continues to spend millions of dollars annually supporting the governments, economies and military defense of all these countries that have so little respect for us. I'd like to see just how they would feel if we cut them all loose from our tax money and left to fend for themselves. Most of Europe has freedom because of the US and continues to have freedom because we provide military defense to their sorry asses.

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF GETTING BADMOUTHED FROM THESE UNGRATEFUL COUNTRIES! If we weren't the bullies that they complain about most of Europe wold be under Communist or Nazi rule. If they don't like us TS!
