Default Price of oil double speak....again

The last three days oil has dropped $16 per barrel. When analysts and politicians are asked if that will affect the price at the pump....today they vacillate and say it will take 4-6 weeks to see if it is real!!!!!!

WHAT????? real????

Why is it when oil goes up a couple of bucks in any given day the price at the pump changes the very next day????

And of course when it goes up even one more dollar to reflect a new high the media is all over it about new records being set and the negative impact it is going to have at the pump.

When it drops $16 there is no mention of impact the pump. There is no mention of the positive impact it could have for the economy.

Media....partisan...selective brain washing.

Some today are already froecasting $100 per barrel in the coming weeks and sighing with relief......whew...energy crisis over....AND OPEC SMILED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[center]Don't you think that all the newspapers should be called "The Daily Naysayer"? I have to admit even though the Daily Sun is very "tilted", it is a pleasure to read "good" news sometimes[center]

I would like to read a paper where the news was "balanced." Is there such a thing?

To have 'balanced news' it would have to be equal to each political point of view. Because there are so many political points of view, someone would ALWAYS say it was unbalanced. If you had one that was balanced perfectly between the left and the right, the communists would say (correctly) that it was skewed in the favor of capitalism. I guess the easy answer is to know the bias so you can pick it out. When I watch fox, I know they are right leaning, and when I watch cnn, I know they report from the perspective of the major international corporation. Then I can separate the news from the propaganda.

I am totally puzzled about the general consenus that if we drill on US land/territory that we will be able to lower the price of oil and gas in the US because it's coming from "our" oil.
The oil companies are all part of the world oil market and while the price may fluctuate based on a variety of factors (economic, political, etc.) the only ones who benefit from low-priced oil in their country are those who's governments have nationalized the oil production.
I don't believe anyone is advocating that, though I may be wrong...

The oil companies are smart. They have learned from the drug cartels that the consumer will pay just about anything and do just about anything if the consumer wants the product bad enough.

Too bad the consumers haven't shown the same sense of reality.

Economics rules all. The oil companies or should I say the government has us ready to pay 3 to 4 dollars a gal. for gas the reason China was buying up all the oil. Well now we have to do some thing so the Pres and the state governments are saying lets drill our own oil off shore in Florida,OK fine, before China gets it all down off of Cuba. Does anyone really think the price is going to drop that much.We have all seen this before prices never go down. If it does go down then electric car reseach will stop and then here we go again,we'll run out of oil again and nothing to replace it.Its coming we never learn our leason. Economics rules not good common sence.
