I believe his last name is Obama. TARP was done by the Bush Administration and the stimulus package seems to starting to work. The Dow is climbing back and profits seem to be coming up. Unemployment is still a problem that needs to be addressed.

As for me being an Obama drone...hardly I was and still am a Hillary girl. I warned my friends about several things in Obama's platform. However, would I vote for Sarah Palin....LOL.

In the case of Obama he would be the first to state the stimulus packages are beginning to work....see the lakes filling and the boats rising......etc....honk....honk!!

Now will you at least answer mine? Is jamming a bill through a Democrat and not a Republican tactic? Your citation proved this is definitely true, but you refuse to deal with this truthfully. Are TARP and the stimulus bill two different things entirely and was the stimulus bill jammed through by the Democrats in the middle of the night? There is serious doubt about the 'stimulus' package. TARP has done its job and stabilized the credit markets. This has resulted in the return of some degree of confidence to the markets.

I believe that both the Democrats and Republicans use the same tactics which has been my point all along.

Stimulus seems to be working? Where in the heck do you find such evidence? I have noticed a push in the MSM to cheerlead a propaganda type recovery but the facts are rather dismal, to say the least. Some economists predict the economy may level off and hit bottom sometime in 2010. Unemployment has not peaked and may very well be over 10% by years end.
It seems the tone of the media depends who is in the White House. In 2003, when America was recovering from 9/11, the media continually beat the drums about a "jobless recovery" even though hundreds of thousands of jobs were being created. On top of that, unemployment figures were always punctuated with figures from the unemployed that fell off the radar. They would say that unemployment was actually 11-12%.
Well, here in 2009 the MSM never mentions the people whose unemployment checks have run out or the people who have stopped looking for work.The figures now would be about 16-18% unemployed.
The moral of the story is take the MSM's "facts" with a grain of salt.
Imagine the headlines if a Republican was in the White House today?

The Obama administration is on record that we have still to see the effects of the stimulus bill - unfortunately, I agree with them. The effects of the stimulus bill will include Weimar Republic like inflation and economic collapse. You, on the other hand, want to attribute economy’s uptick to the stimulus bill TARP has already done its job and the credit markets are up and running again. Just as the pullout from Iraq was negotiated by the Bush administration and now BO/BS wants to take credit for it.

It’s time, arguably long past time, to put party differences aside, and deal with the problems that face us today – a unimaginable balance of trade, total energy dependence upon other countries, the bankruptcy of Medicare, Social Security and virtually every local, state and national pension program. Nationalizing healthcare, the automobile industry and large parts of the financial markets is not meeting this challenge.
