He simply calls people names (I suppose this is to show his superiority) and also has to take the young family and poke fun...but they are not shallow with this stuff...they feel like they are cute !!!!

You just dont hear young girls mocked on political forums very much !

Bugs is just trying to get you riled so he can sit and giggle at his computer screen thinking himself to be such a brilliant provocateur.

Basically he believes the underlying issues he talking about, but he sometimes posts in a way designed to annoy.

RICHIELION..let me ask you a question about your friend Bugs.....are you saying that going after a persons family is just meant to annoy ? Do I assume then that anyone can attack someones family and it is simply an ANNOYANCE and that is now deemed acceptable ? Are we to be understanding ?

I say "my friend" Bugs jocularly, but I don't dislike him. We don't agree on most things in the political spectrum, but for the most part he attacks our "icons" but doesn't attack us personally, unlike a few other rabid libs, and I'm OK with that. Sometimes it may be tasteless, but "what the hey".

Bugs and I have never met except for some sparring on this forum. It just seems to me that he purposefully tries to get conservative posters to lose their temper and thus minimize their impact in the debate.

(Sorry to be talking about you like you're not here Bugs, and hopefully I'm not grossly misrepresenting you)

I am sure you will be forgiven by Bugs, but my opinion...he has a pet name for a number of folks that he does not like or disagrees with....I suppose that is found to be cute...not by me for sure.

Example....CARIBOU BARBIE is what he calls ex Gov Palin. I suppose that is an little bit of cuteness and funnies speaking of where she was born and raised and perhaps her looks. Now....if that is just an annoyance and is not acceptable on this forum...where do we draw the line ? Take the same premise....birthplace, ethnicity, looks, etc and come up with pet names for folks that you don't like. Gee....where are we going with this.

I disagree with President Obama but NEVER EVER EVER called him a pet name....EVER even mentioned his family. Palin is not the only one that gets that treatment. He may think its is cute and funny....others also. I think it is a step in the wrong direction.

I, and I think you also, have been called a racist....haters....BUT IT IS OK to accept this kind of behavior? When did we say this was ok on here or other places. I cant even imagine me calling someone a name, cute or otherwise that dealt with place of birth, ethnicity, looks or anything like that AND FOR NO REASON can ever imagine any adult taking on the children of famous people.

You know over the years I have defended this political forum when it was called rough and nasty....in here and on the general board....way back..when it started and was not private...and when it went private, I continually defended this forum. I have been here since it began, but if we now are to accept all of this name stuff and include the children now as simply annoying then perhaps my defense of this forum was way out of line !

I don't disagree with you at all. But almost anyone who reads this forum can see who's serious about the issues and knows what they're talking about, even if they themselves have a different opinion and reach different conclusions.

Does the person who writes about others with vehement disrespect make himself look smart or foolish? I guess to the other boys in the back of the classroom it seems cool, but the kids up front know what's going on.

Richie, Thanks for the kind words. You and I seem to be kind of the same types of people - except on different political sides. I sure did get under Blue Heron's and Bucco's skin. As George W. would say, "Mission Accomplished".

Got it...when you call folks or magazines or political parties RACIST, everyone should take a chill pill. When you make up names using their ethnicity and looks as the determining factor....take a chill pill.

Folks today I have lost my taste for politics. I guess you can say that I have become disappointed and disillusioned with all pols. Politics has always been about who was better at playing the game of one-up-manship but it has gotten dirty and dirty each campaign year. there are no longer true statesmen wih the ability to debate with fairness and humor, or people of moral integrity, or people who inspire you or more importantly lines, all agree, should not be crossed. There is not in my opinion one incumbent or one candidate out there that leaves me with confidence that America is in good hands. So i have done my best to try and ignore as much of the rhetoric and focus on end results which i am finding is almost quite impossible. i have never been very good at cross word puzzles but perhaps now is a good time to learn. I hope not to feel this way tomorrow but...................

The people, magazines, and political parties that I have called racists have all issued terrible racist statements such as the email cartoon of President Obama as the offspring of Chimpanzees. I hope you do not go along with them.
