Such a great title as if I were working in a lab somewhere ...

TWO things I am interested in knowing and a quick search of the net leaves me without answers...can anyone help with actual information...

1. I would like to know WHO put the pork in the bail out bill very specifically !

2. I am under the impression by listening to folks that Sen Reid and Speaker Pelosi have told the House of Rep that this bill is IT....you either take it or leave it...which is wonderful statemanship if true.....would like to verify that !

I heard that the arrows thing came from an Alaskan Republican if they wanted his vote. I will look for a link but it might be the Huffington. Some of them are bills most everybody wants so they are just throwing popular things.

I will see what I can find.

Thank goodness, Bucco, that we have something in common. I would like to look at every line of that bill. I'm sure parts will be worded so that the common man will have no clue about the content. It is disgusting that all the porkers had to get to the trough before they could reach some accord.

This may help somewhat. It's the legislative history of this "Rescue" (gasp!). From this link you can search all sorts of information.

This bill started as one thing and had almost the entire text swapped starting on October 1st. So, as you go down "All Congressional Actions with Amendments" suggest you start on 10/01/2008.

Got to spend some more time on it. To add this stuff on to bribe the House of Representatives is, to me anyway, reprehensible especially on a bill this important NON EXPLAINED to any of the citizens.

It appears from what I can see (watching Glen Beck right now who is trying to figure out who the pork was aimed at) they simply shoved stuff in there aimed at those in the house whose vote they wanted to change......in other words put them on the spot !

I am just dismayed.....I am not dumb...I know this happens, but on a bill of this magnitude to be so open with the crap just irritates me. Maybe I am alone in this but this congress is so bad...so inept....I am with you Steve...they all have to go EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM ! Somehow a message has to be sent

I started this thread with two questions....I think...or hope I got it but open to anyone who suggest otherwise...

1. Seems that the pork may have been put in by the senate leadership (Sen Dodd seems to have his name on a lot of stuff) but it was intended for members of the house who had favorite bills stuck and had voted no earlier on the bail out.

Isnt that a great way to run the country ?

2. Actually it looks like Speaker Pelosi did NOT say "take it or leave it"...she simply said that she would not put it to a vote if there was any chance it would not pass. Not sure why !

Both parties are inept !!!!
