That is odd, I was under the impression taking your own life is a sin...one that is different from all the other sins YOU have committed in life, as it is the only sin you can't ask forgiveness for.

But you would know better than me, cause I just do the good things in life for myself.

STOCK UP ON AMMO! Because when the people with a sense of entitlement get hungry, they are going to take from those that have it (and they don't care if you believe in God or not!).

From one conservative to another, I'll worry about you more than I will worry about liberals. They are no physical threat. My bullets will be for the non-believers with guns that feel that they can take from the rest of us. But, that is not a political thing, even if you try to make every thread a survivalist thing. So, stock up on ammo because when you come my way, you will need it. When you are a good shot, you don't need to stock up on ammo.

I added a couple commas to hopefully make that easier to read, not enough coffee this morning, SORRY!

I'm guessing you didn't really mean to say "not" when you wrote.... "but I do not, do those things, for myself?"

I don't care if they have a gun, knife, or baseball bat! My bullets will be for believers, and non believers, that try to take from ME!

Me personally? Or, the non believers figuratively?

When you are a good shot, you don't need to stock up on ammo.

I go prairie dog shooting every year. (by the way before somebody gets confused on what I am shooting - these are rodents 3" wide x 9" tall, they are not canine dogs) I shoot 300-500 rounds a day and kill 250-400 pdogs a day. I took 2 pdogs off the mound at 550 yards with my AR10 /243 on a day with 25MPH gusts. I have killed pdogs at 700 yards with my savage 243. I am good at close range too; I scored 290 on my CC accuracy test with a 3.2" barreled 40 cal pistol. I am a good shot! But, there are going to be a lot of people that have never worked a day in their lives, and have developed a sense of entitlement, they will be looking to take from those that have what they want. If you have a lot of people you need to fend off, you will need A LOT OF AMMO!

I'm excited for you. What kind of weapon were the Pdogs using against you? They were shooting back, right? It's a bit different when they are shooting back. Wonder how good your accuracy would be then. Even though I have no problems with hunters, your comment proves that you have issues. But, go ahead and live your fantasy life. Hard to believe that one as paranoid as you would live in the Villages. But, then again this place draws all kinds of folks. Glad you don't frequent food preparation establishments. I hate waiting in lines.

You're gonna fend off a gang of 20-40 yourself? That's what you'll be up against. In Fl, in TV, you don't have 500yd 360, sight lines. You have to work, you have to sleep, they'll find you and they'll take from you, dead or alive. If you're the real man you say you are, you can join up and become one of the leaders.

Otherwise you will lose your Alamo.

There is strength in numbers.

Duh that is a stretch, the pdogs don't have weapons. They do cause the cattle problems with the burrowing. The pdogs are know to carry the plague as well. They are rodents...moving target practice. I suppose you feel it would be better to poison them instead of shooting them? But then the Native American guides would have less income...and the ranchers would have more expense to pass on to the consumers.

You understand pdogs are not hunted they are shot, right? I am a hunter (not just a shooter) and suspect you do have problems with the concept of hunting. I bet your a paper target guy, if you even own a gun.

I am not paranoid, I am prepared. If you want to be unprepared, feel free to do so.

I think you have me confused with someone else, as I don't get your food prep comment. If you hate lines; you certainly have moved to the wrong place (have you been to Longhorn, Outback, Bonefish, or any other popular places for dinner?)!

Going back to the subject of the thread, about sliding. This country's economy is doing pretty poorly. According to statistics, this administration is the ONLY administration that has not had a GDP growth rate of 3% or higher.

I agree with much of what you say. Obviously closer range shots would be easier than long distance shots...if a guy is great at 500 yards, shooting at 50 yards is no challenge. Yes, numbers will be an issue, so: STOCK UP ON AMMO!

Even that was "paid for" by "borrowing" over a $ trillion a year. The government is rapidly becoming the economy. All of it carefully managed. Not managed well, but managed. Supported by borrowing. The interest alone is $500 billion a year.

Son, if Pdogs are not hunted, I suppose that you can purchase some at your local firing range to shoot at, right?
Paper target guy? Hmmm, perhaps. I brush up on paper targets. Shot some holes this week, as a matter of fact. And I did have a period of time where I was an instructor in the police Dept. if that is equivalent to paper targets. Have I been hunting? Yes, and I ate what I shot. I have no problems with hunting or hunters. Have I been shot at and shot back? Yes, I have and I have shot and killed humans, if that qualifies me in your realm of acceptance. Until I moved down here, I also spent a couple of years with my daughter and her husband competing in USPSA/IDPA, if you know what that is. But, I don't take much interest in hunting, even though I encourage my grandson and his father to hunt and bring me some venison to grill. I find it more sporting to shoot at something that shoots back. Not much chance of that anymore.
Yes, I own a few guns, if that is any of your business. Couple of rifles and a few pistols. I probably have about a thousand rounds or so of ammo for my weapons. Nothing for your coming apocalypse though.
You're not paranoid? Are you not the gent that ends EVERY post with Stock UP On Ammo? Are you not the one that thinks all politicians are against you? Are you not the one that says he doesn't trust fast food people to handle your food properly? Not that it means much to me. Like I said before, more paranoid people the less people in line when I go there.

Interesting that you mentioned prairie dogs. I saw something very similar in my many travels through Turkey. By the way, how are Pdogs BBQ'd? Taste good? I guess the closest thing that I have had would be the squirrels that I used to hunt and eat. But, I have never eaten prairie dog.

Do you object so fervently when rats, mosquitoes, and roaches are the victims?

We have entire industries dedicated to their demise. I don't think even PETA has a problem with killing them.

Don't be a hypocrite.

Ol' Timer, I respectfully disagree with you with regard to pdogs being hunted. We drive into the prairie where there are known pdog towns (many burrows close together) it is not difficult to find these pdog towns; all you need is eyesight. They are oblivious to us as we set up shooting tables and start with the closest (75 yards) and work our way back (usually 500 yards, sometimes 700 yards). We start with 17hmr, move to 223s as we get past 150 yards, and transition to 243 for 400yards and beyond. I reload my own 243 stuff (it is expensive to buy retail), the 17 and 223 is purchased.

Hunting in my opinion is more like stalking elusive animals, sitting still and quiet in a tree stand, no guarantee that you will even get a shot off. Hunting is not as easy as shooting.

As for your paper target stuff, I enjoy the range up in Ocalla National Forest often as I can. I do find it odd that you enjoy shooting at something that shoots back, have you tried steel lined walls yet?

I do end my posts with STOCK UP ON AMMO! for 2 reasons: one; I can easily identify where I left off in the discussion (as screen names are all "guests" in this forum) and two; I believe in being prepared if the need arises.

I am not the person that complained about food prep, nor believe all politicians are against me...when I entered this forum there were 41 people viewing, maybe the person you are thinking of is one of the other 39 people on here???

You don't eat pdogs, they are known to have the plague...if you want to eat what you killed here in FL, try hog hunting, taste great even BBQ'd.

Why not STOCK UP ON WATER? It sounds a lot more practical.

Better read the post again. Where did you get an objection to hunting in that post?

Apology accepted.
