Most of you missed the point noted by the OP to the extent that AARP neglected to note that the failure to extend a COLA took place during the current administration but rather picked a long period of 40 years while the fact remains that over four decades we seniors had for 37 years receive our COLA. By the way, we paid into our SS and it is not an entitlement. Shame on AARP for their unabashed bias to BHO and his cohorts.
I'll repeat, the dominant issue is the purposeful avoidance of noting that the increase was in the three years during BHO's administration. Don't try to say that this is playing politics, or that it is hate. It is FACT! Surely, this country has had its ups and downs over 40 years, but, seniors have not had to endure the failure to receive the COLA, even if minimally.
It seems that some people would rather name call than recognize what is happening around us and at the same time refuse to take the POTUS to task for his overall lack of leadership. Finally, and to get back to the thread, AARP appears to detract from, or avoid, noting the obvious. Why not say that COLA was not increased three times in the past 9 years.
