There is one or more threads about the single person accidently killed in San Francisco by a person who benefited from lax enforcement of laws. The right wing noise machine screamed, and continues to scream that this one incident proves that Mexico is sending its criminals to our country. The GOP has in just a few days managed to draft and pass legislation to fix the problem, all over this one incident. A party that has been so unable to agree within its own caucus that it needs Pelosi to get most anything done.

Yet when we have, once again, a failure of our already too loose gun laws to do what they should do, where is the outcry from the GOP leaders to do something? From your favorite website for balanced information, Fox News...

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Friday that "now is not the time" to discuss gun control, a position backed Saturday by rock musician and gun enthusiast Ted Nugent, who was in Lafayette for a sportsmen's exposition and came by to lay some flowers.

Asked whether Houser should have been allowed to purchase a gun, Nugent said "I think it's inappropriate to even approach that subject. I think it's all about prayers for the victims and the families."

Do you see an enormous difference in response? Can my GOP friends explain it to me? Are you so afraid the NRA will endorse someone even further to your right in the next primary if you dare say the words "gun control" in a positive way?

We have gun control now but like immigration it is selectively and in some cases not enforced.

Just because someone who should not have a gun gets one does not automatically qualify for the cry for gun control....unless for political leverage of course.

It is unfortunate that when there is a gun involved far too many are so blinded tdo not see nor care about the real issue that may be the cause.

As I have said before when some see or hear the word gun their response is akin to pulling the string in a dolls neck....

Very predictable and always the same and never changes.

Guns don't kill people, and the moon is made of cream cheese. The civilized countries of the world who have reasonable gun controls in place don't have these occurrences. Our more civilized allies, in fact, think we're nuts. Check out:

What "reasonable gun controls" do you propose?
