Not to worry, Doodlegirl

But that doesn't mean I'm gonna beat up on the other guy. We need to listen to the words; don't listen to the emotion. What are they saying? And it can be tough, 'cause sometimes they're not saying a lot. But it is worth the effort. What are they really saying? There are 16 --yes, friends, 16 loyal Americans who, for whatever reason, think they should replace the current President of these United States. I, frankly, am dubious. But I could be, might be, probably am, wrong. But I have to look carefully and weigh the criteria with great deliberation. Cheers to all. Yarnspinner |
I have to laugh when some post about this forum being one sided...repubs inferred.
I just wish some of the dispensers of critical ve4rbiage about their opposition were around during 2007/2008....when Obama and others were vying for the nomination. Your counterparts in the opposition would be crying about how lopsided the posting was. And they might even have noted how nasty it got when ANYBODY challenged ANYTHING about the dem candidates. Then after the election they all disappeared....some no doubt because they are disappointed by what the created in Washington. Others because they are realists knowing they could no longer defend the man they voted for as the talk continued to be further and further away from the walk..... and there are many new members as well as the reincarnated (those from the past with a new identity so they could come back and rail some more. And there are some of us who said we would give Obama the first year before making a final opinion on him. I gave him until his first state of the nation. In my eyes he failed to deliver on his promises...then and he still has not. The opposition philosophy has not changed hardly at all. Never stay on point or subject. Always, always bash anybody who challenges their man...and always without fail get in a Bushslap. See if the archives go back that far and you will see for yourself. btk |

Hey Yarnspinner
At first I thought you meant the 16 posters here...took me awhile. Yes, I too
am searching the potential candidates and ticking off those with the brain and brawn to maintain steam along a raggedy track. What is sad is that there is still time to see if what has been implemented can take hold. It feels remote, but still possible. I don't think any of us recognized the damage done in the previous administrations would throw this President under the bus quite as quickly as it did. |

We'll Deserve It
Since the first few responses to the initial query in this thread, it's been rants about recent historical political figures and attacks on one another. Oh, and the occasional vitriol about the President who was fairly elected in the 2008 election. I don't think there's been even one attempted answer to the initial question.
Like someone suggested in another post here, if the American electorate is as bitterly ideologically divided as the handful of posters on this forum, we're going to deserve the government we get as the result, and the life-changing effect their continued polarized inaction will have on us, our kids and grandkids. With thoughtlessness such as is demonstrated here, it's easy to see why the Congress doesn't work, and why even the super committee, which has such an awesome responsibility, has simply given up and gone home, unable and unwilling to negotiate an agreement on any single issue, even those that they admit they largely agree on. Unbelievable! But based on how people conduct themselves here, not surprising, I guess. |

I see everyone has rested up and are back at it again.
After letting it rest last evening I re-read the whole thread and what is very apparent is that even though this right leaning forum (of which I am one) has very set in stone opinions, It has been the left sounding or leaning posters that just can't help but throw flames, call names and threaten people. To me this just poisons the koolaide, which ever kind you drink, and makes it impossible to discuss anything. It is a shame that when someone can't make a point the next step is hate and vitriol. How about expanding on your point with out ending the sentence with so sort of derogatory statement or name calling. You don't know but it may give someone something to think about! And may even give you something to think about. And before I am attacked for painting with a broad brush, it comes from both side but usually as a response to an attack not a first volley. |
