26% of people below the poverty level smoke cigarettes...and based on personal experience with temporary labor across the country, I believe that it is higher than that...

What do you call a person who can't feed and cloth themselves, receives welfare, but can afford to smoke?

They can afford to smoke while talking on their cell phone, while drinking a beer.

I have answered this welfare question more that once hopefully this will be the last:

I believe that welfare should be a helping hand up but not vocation. The disability program is a joke now with whole families of healthy people on the rolls.

There are rules about what you can use the EBT card for and cigarettes are not on that list. However, some people cheat...not sure how to control that!

How would you root out the cheats?

You've really provided your opinion, not necessarily an answer to the welfare question...

You can root out the cheats by ending the program!

If only 23% are smoking cigarettes that means 74% are not. So we should punish all of them for the minority bad apples.

So no answer other than stopping all welfare is acceptable to you?

I have discussed this at length, yes you asked me for my thoughts on welfare...those are opinions. We have gone several rounds on this now.

I support welfare for a time limited period. COPUFF
