Oh Mell - why not get a petition signed saying they should not build in the vacant land near your place. You should be able to enjoy it, and control it, even though you don't own it, because you are so much nicer than they are!

What a typical reply, snarky without actually addressing the underlying issue. When environmentalists suggest that development can be carried out in more sustainable ways or that climate change is worth dealing with, they are mocked as “anti-business” or “crisis-mongers.” Then a crisis comes, and we wonder why the politicians were so shortsighted. Or, in your case, insulting people who at least try to bring attention to the problem.

If Clinton is not wearing a jump suit yet then ANYBODY else is way safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since Republicans control the entire government and have no interest in chasing down Kremlin lies against Hillary, she will remain free. Sounds like you fell for all the Russian propaganda, though.

Spot on. Congress (The Establishment) has a 17% approval rating. They cannot pass a budget as our Constitution requires but personally many of them became (mysteriously) excessively wealthy, way beyond what could be amased, considering their wages earned. Pelosi:(D) Let's pass the bill (Obamacare) so we can then read it and find out what's in it. McConnell:(R) The President (Trump) has "excessive expectations" about the pace of congressional progress. These, supposed, but mistakenly considered intelligent lawmakers, on both sides, comprise the Good Ole Boys & Girls Establishment that Trump threatens. Wouldn't we all like a job that would give us full retirement in a few years of work, and be able to determine our own salary, medical benefit and retirement. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Hillary, and complacent voters condoned a Congress that has fallen to a ridiculous 17% approval rating. Trump, like him or not, represents a movement to stop this decline in acceptable governing. If Trump cannot get the job done do not believe the movement will end there. You may or may not like the man, but the movement he has started will continue to grow with or without him.

It may be a republican congress in name only.

They are the establishment. And the establishment is as anti Trump as much as the dems and the media and the long, LONG list of parrots.

Trump is everything the establishment is not and does not want.
Trump is a threat to the establishment.
The establishment, both R & D have the hands of their special interest groups in their pockets. The special interest groups do not want the establishment disrupted for the same reason.
The media is definitely run and owned by wealthy crony establishment who do not want the status quo disrupted.

So all the powers that be are predominantly the establishment.

Does anybody with half a brain have to work very hard at why Trump is always on the spot? Always blocked at every turn? Minimalized at every opportunity?

The crony establishment constituency....they just do and believe what ever their party tells them....both R&D.

:agree::agree:

Hi Mell - hope you are enjoying central Florida!!

What filled in swamp was your home built on? I can't believe they did not stop building after YOUR home...how silly of them.

Mell - What is typical and snarky is you bringing attention to this problem after YOUR needs have been satisfied. When you wanted a home here, you had no problem with it being built and you did not care if it was carried out in a sustainable way. Now you want to stop construction for the environment...

Except since you don't know me, you have absolutely no idea that your statement is true. First of all let me tell you I never buy retail, so that should give you a clue. Second, my last home was a passive solar earth shelter...yet another clue.

Oh Mell, I comprehend well...you just suck at communicating!

Retail is the sale of goods to the public in relatively small quantities for use or consumption rather than for resale...Possibly you thought you were buying wholesale?

New or pre owned makes a difference to the ecology? Care to elaborate on your train of thought?? Please include the details on how the filling of swamp a couple years ago does not hurt the ecology today because Mell lives there. Don't forget how the energy inefficiencies of the older homes (pre IECC 2012 AND IECC 2016) are of no impact to the ecology because Mell lives there now.

You should have stayed in your cave, if you were so worried about the ecology!

Trump has shown no respect for anyone, with his name calling and insults , so why should he get respect. One has to earn respect.

President Trump, himself, has shown little or no respect for the office of President.

It has been reduced to an office simply bloviating and accusing people of crimes. The accusations and personal attacks seem to have replaced any desire for any legislation to be passed, as he attacks his own.

The cost to our government just to simply investigate his accusations is just growing.

He has shown no respect for the ethics of the office either. His total disregard for the ethics in involved, especially his promise on which he reneged to divest his business associations. His total disregard to the US constitution is the impetus for discussion of the Emoluments Clause, something most do not even read about as nobody has ever dared simply ignore ethics.

Having the President show respect for the office he holds might just allow some respect for him.

Welcome to the Forum!

Trump is not going to get respect from any of the liberals on this forum, no matter what he does. They wanted Crooked Hillary and they were mislead into believing she could not lose...really they wanted Bernie, but the DNC decided that was not happening.

So,they are now whining and pouting about every move Trump makes, or does not make.

You might as well start insulting the liberals on here, they can't be reasoned with, as they make crap up left and right. You know if CNN or MSN stated an opinion it has to be fact...LOL

I could be wrong but the website you link doesn't seem to be very credible. The article itself says there has never been any mention of this in any of the main stream media. On the homepage of the website it pretty much says that anybody can write anything they want. That's Philly for ya! :D

Exactly why I do not respect Obama. He name called all the time and was disrespectful to our law enforcement. He was also a racist, unlike President Trump.

"Trump cannot be described"...Really

“First of all, let me tell you the federal government has been excellent,” Edwards said. “The president has called twice, he signed the declaration we requested within a few hours of our making the request on Sunday evening. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Duke has been wonderful, and FEMA administrator Brock (Long) has been great as well.”

Edwards made clear in a Fox News interview Wednesday that his comments about Trump reflected his feelings.

“Actually we’ve had two conversations now, and in both of them he was very gracious and obviously concerned about the people of our state,” Edwards said, noting that Trump has not been a stranger to visiting his state when trouble struck.

“He was here last year after record flooding in August and so he wanted to make sure that we had what we need. We appreciate the fact that he very quickly signed the emergency declaration that we had requested. I think we had submitted it late on Sunday evening (and) he signed it before 7 o’clock on Monday morning. So the president has been engaged.”

John Bel Edwards (D) Governor of Louisiana

Personal Best Regards:

Love2Swim 09-05-2017 07:40 AM

Back in 2016, the office of Louisiana Gov. Edwards originally signaled that Donald Trump was welcome to visit Louisiana in the wake of destructive flooding, but only if he did not use it for political gain. He warned Trump against using the visit as a photo-op. He clearly was not a big Trump fan.

Edwards is no dummy. He know Trump's ego needs pandering to, and he'll do as much of that as he can to keep the focus on his state during the recovery effort, and to keep the money coming in. Of course he is going to thank the Federal Government for the cash. Duh.

Good points. It is clear he has nothing to do with the planning process. The governmental agencies like FEMA handle everything. He is a figurehead, and was there for political optics.

you don't say. Hmmm as I recall when the hurricane devastated New Orleans, et al and FEMA failed to effectively respond fast, the MSM couldn't move fast enough to place all the blame on Bush. Bush eventually fired the head of FEMA. So tell me then is a president just a figurehead or not? And if a president is just a figure head then was MSM wrong in criticizing Bush?
