Do what the mods told you... and quit hanging on my pecker.

CNM ... you're once more confused. We've already established you're so gender fluid you don't even know if you have one of those.

The tradition for the Press and the President is one more that wisdom says should be observed. Even when Donald only visits the White House for governmental ceremony and lives in one of his "AMAZING" luxury properties, he will be living the philosophy of Ayn Rand and "The Virtue of Selfishness." It's not about U.S., it's about ME.

The press is OWED nothing. They are the ones putting out their lies and distortions, so they are warranted NOTHING. Just because Obie is the entertainer-in-chief and the media ate it up, does not mean that Trump is obligated to pander to the press. Tradition my @ss! Tradition tried to insist that he release his tax returns, yet he still won. Tradition says that the gov pander to the lobbyists, and he is kicking them out. Tradition is NOT law or even regulation. The press has caused the riots and protests so they can go follow the coddled children as the ignorantly protest something they do not even understand. Trump is working and he does not have time for pandering to the media. He used them to win, and they probably feel as used as a stiffed prostitute. I really enjoyed hearing them whine about him having a steak dinner with his kids, leaving out the press. Gotta love it.

The PRESS does not sit with the President when he dines. They can be at Burger King, it's ok. Now, that we are getting cozy with Russia we don't want to adopt their system that controls the media. (Isvestia and Pravda). The Founding Fathers didn't make Freedom of the Press number one in the Bill of Rights just to "p!!s o!!f" future generations. Imagine that as an argument.......come on fella.

Glad that some find humor in this situation...not so funny actually !

People on here really getting full of themselves.

"This is the kind of job that falls uniquely to the protective pool following the president or vice president of the United States. It chronicles the unfolding events, large and small, of a presidency, with the belief that writing history shouldn’t be left only to loyal staffers and government officials. It tries to keep the public informed — where the president is, where the president is going, what the president is doing and saying, how the president is doing, with whom the president is meeting. And it’s designed to tell Americans, and the world, about the president’s whereabouts and well-being in the event of a crisis, and how the president is responding. At its grimmest, it’s sometimes called a “body watch,” the bleak legacy of the assassination of JFK and the attempted murder of Ronald Reagan. But the “protective” in protective pool refers to the fact that it follows the president just in case and does not assemble for a specific announcement. (The president always has a protective pool, while the vice president gets one chiefly when traveling abroad.)

Why you should care about Trump ditching his press pool

"For security reasons, there's little if any advance warning about where the presidential motorcade will be going. But once it's on the move, there's a vital tool that we used heavily to cover that visit: the protective press pool.

This term refers to a small group of journalists who are given access to travel with the president and provide information that's shared with media organizations, which can then share it with their readers. The gravity of the office demands that such accounting for the president's activities takes place, and every administration going back decades has worked with the news media to accommodate pool coverage for that reason."

No one is controlling the press. They can continue to sneak around and make their own news all they wish. If the president wishes to have some private time, there is no law that I know of that states that it is mandatory for the press to be present. Their freedom does not give them privileges. The left tried to make "tradition" into a regulation of some sort with his tax return, and it did not work. In order to work, someone has to give a sh*t.

This is stupid on many levels...must have been a liberal's idea!

How is the reporter being there when, or if, the president gets shot serve national security? Do they keep him alive by interviewing him? Do they keep the rest of the nation safe by interviewing the shooter?

There would be no record of a president being shot if the reporter was not present at the time of the shooting?? How did everyone know JFK had been shot, seeing how this stupid press corp was not invented yet??

Again, this is STUPID $hit we waste money on as a government.

This is the same press that was present and recorded the events when Reagan was shot.

I'm guessing every President in our lifetimes has been followed by the media. Just like famous personalities. Every President has revealed his tax returns. When you become famous that comes with the territory. President Obama's faults have all been exposed by the media. The Donald is subject to the same scrutiny. When we become a one party system like our beloved trading partners in China we can conveniently disregard The Bill of Rights and The Constitution to protect our leaders from criticism.

How dare Trump eat in private! He needs to be transparent like Hillary and Obama were with Benghzi, or how transparent Hillary attempted to be by secreting and illegally using her own email server to transmit classified and business information. I wonder if Trump wiped his dish when he was through like Hillary wiped her server. Trump probably tipped his server, while Hillary deleted her server.

They Are Both Right

Clearly the news media in general has lost the respect of its readers and justifiably so given their unethical behavior. So it is logical that Trump and others would not trust them and ignore or strike out at a reporter whom they deemed having a biased/personal agenda.

On the other hand we do have a right to be fully informed of the president's actions, relationships etc ( transparency)

This is a fine line and in order for journalist to walk it they better prove to any president that they can be trusted to utilize good judgment and always behave in an ethical manner

How would you suggest this be done ?

Just saying because our new President will "tweet" or whatever needs to be done if a story is written about him that is not flattering.....TRUTH is NEVER a determinate for these punch backs.

He has turned many people against the media, and for the life of me I cannot understand anyone undermining the media. If you do not agree, fine but I am speaking of the rhetoric he used, prompting his followers to spit and yell obscenity at anyone even remotely in the area of media.

He go the nomination because of the media, of that nobody can argue.

What do you suggest the media do for Trump ?

Not making a general defense of the media because they can irritate me a lot, but mostly when they do not print MY views :) What do they do if they are not lying about him ?

I sure want the media to keep all of them honest.....do not want them to lie.....but sure want them to keep that oval honest and his constant rantings cannot change facts !

MDLNB 11-17-2016 04:05 PM

The news should be reported like a police incident report.........facts, not opinions. If we want opinions, we can turn back to the commentaries and comments section.
