Over 60 million and over 300 electoral votes say he did.

World leaders are calling him, the stock market......

You just don't like him, there's a flight to Canada at 5pm, need a ride?

More people voted for Hillary Clinton and there was a lot of false stories and trolling on social media.

World leaders have to call him he is President-Elect.

We will see what he does once he takes office. I have very low expectations however for Donald Trump and he has done nothing to gain any confidence in him.

And the Electoral College have not voted yet. It would be a horrible precedent though if they voted for someone other than who their constituencies picked.

1. The poster you are responding to said Trump got "over 300 electoral votes".....actually it was 290.

Most importantly to your post.

I suggest you come to grips. He is elected President. I opposed him NOT because of whatever proposals he made but on his despicable character and morals and habit of lying profoundly.

I wish him all the luck with any proposals that will help my country or protect us, and this election will be a test for me as I always felt the leader of the country should have some morals. If he succeeds for 4 years, I will need to eat come crow and admit it does not matter how you live your life, not who you hurt or what meanness is in your heart, you can still be President.

I honestly wish him luck with all he proposes

We sure have.....dishonest, adulterers and all types, BUT NEVER EVER anyone in his catagory...not even close to his immorality and lack of any redeeming character.

BUT he was elected by the electoral college and thus he is the President. I am trying hard to just concentrate on his policy decisions, cabinet appointments etc.

I am just cautioned by the fact that he is a deplorable liar and chronically so....evidence yesterday on his claim that he somehow had input on the decision by Ford. I just caution everyone to know this man is not someone to trust, nor what appears to be some posters favorite website..Breitbart. I promise you, they lie and do it openly and often

Not going to reply in depth to you except to say it would be to your advantage to widen your reading a bit.

You seem to take each post, and spread your negativity.

I oppose Trump on his character...THAT LACK OF CHARACTER AND MORALS CANNOT BE DISPUTED.

You feel that you can cushion that fact by mentioning others who have told those political lies which we seem to get used to.

Trump is in his own catagory, but thats ok. If you want to use past to defend him so be it.....I propose that we take everyone at present. I know JFK cheated...I know what Bill Clinton did....and I know all about Donald Trump. JFK is dead....Bill Clinton is a private citizen.

Do I believe all politicians are corrupt. I DO NOT and welcome you to try to make that case, which you cannot. Everything in this world is not black and white and you cant make it that way to defend things Trump has done and said, NOT AS A PRESIDENT YET, but throughout his entire life. It is a matter of record and again....I will support him in policy issues I think, but never will anyone tell me that he is a nice person in anyway. He is a lying, mean spirited man with no character traits that anyone would ever want their children to have, BUT he is the President...we shall see but again I point out, and it is minor I admit....how he lied about stopping a Ford move...he simply lies without thinking, and you folks blame the media for calling him on it.

Rockyrd 11-18-2016 10:44 AM

My hope is with his appointments, he will be surrounded by people who can make him understand that being truthful is important.

He is 70 years old and thus I suspect little change. He still has a need to be patted on the back, and I really question this supposed "thank you tour" he is talking about. It is lined with security risks and I think the countries business should take precedence.

But, I agree...he is not anywhere near to being a nice man or even acceptable on morals or character.

We will see how this translates.

Sorry...you're confused by the "Guest" thing...I've never supported Trump nor Hillary...no D or R...because...they ARE ALL CORRUPT. They just haven't been caught/turned in yet.

Negative...about politics and corruption? Really? I wonder why? I ask how someone could have anything positive to say about them or what they do.

YOU need to read more and of a wider scope.

Remember...the LAST person you want in the ultimate power position...is someone who WANTS to be in that position. We'd be better off with the OTHER "election process" the founders kicked around...a "jury duty" system. Except it would be "president duty" or "Senator duty", or "Congressman duty". It couldn't be worse that the current system of complete corruption.

Hillary is NOT the answer. Unless...you're black, hispanic, female, gay, lazy.

Amazing how many crybabies on here, when I thought this was mostly seniors from The Villages. Trump is this and Trump is that. Well, one thing you will learn is that Trump will be a hundred percent better than Obama. Yes, Obama is very well spoken. Harry Reid said Obama speaks very good "white" when he wants to. After you all get done telling us how despicable he is, forgetting about how nasty and despicable the Clintons are, remember that he is YOUR PRESIDENT now. What difference does it make to anyone/ANYONE how close the vote was? Like the saying goes "close only matters in horseshoes and hand grenades." Hitlery lost and is a very poor loser. Personally, it would not matter to me if Billy and Hitlery both jumped off a cliff or took poison together. Unfortunately for America, I fear that we have not seen the last of that cancer.

I do hope that Obummer pardons Hitlery, because that will take one item off of Trump's already full plate of things to correct from the last administration. And there are so many crybabies that we would probably lose half the country to suicide if Hitlery was convicted. And she would be convicted in a fair court.

Actually...he is NOT the president. We elected the "electors" who will do the actual election vote themselves in December. They ARE obligated to vote for Trump...but they ARE free to vote for anyone they want. They could theoretically elect Sanders. The Electoral College is the ONLY vote that elects the president...and it hasn't happened yet. you'll know in January, when Congress counts the votes.

Officially, Hillary COULD still win. It depends on whether Trump is REALLY an outsider that the R party hates...or we've all been fooled by the "reality TV" part Trump played so well as the "rogue" candidate.

He could be a "transformer", a master of disguise...a "decepticon" to use the parlance or vernacular of the younger generation.

White House press corps - Wikipedia

The Press Corps play a pivotal role in our Founding Fathers vision of a Free Press not controlled by the Government. This is a very important check-and-balance against the kind of tyranny they were so afraid of that you find throughout English, Greek and Roman history.

Tyranny:cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control.

That is the new definition of the media. The working person knows that.

F the media

MDLNB 11-18-2016 12:31 PM

President Elect Obama ditches press:

"it was in December when he ditched the press pool, and he wasn’t just out for dinner somewhere. He was on a Hawaii vacation. CNN reported at the time:

A vacationing President-elect Barack Obama slipped away from the traveling press pool that follows him wherever he goes, taking his two young daughters, family members and friends to Hawaii’s Sea Life Park.

Likewise, the New York Times reported around the same time:

In the news-free zone that is Barack Obama’s preinauguration Hawaiian vacation, this passes for a bulletin: The president-elect ditched his “press pool” of media minders to take his daughters to a water park on Friday morning.

In making his dash — with his Secret Service security detail, to be sure — Mr. Obama drew attention both to the seemingly odd but important rituals of the presidential (and prepresidential) bubble and to just how much this very private public man chafes under its constraints."

Ironically one of the reasons for creating the electoral college was to prevent someone like Trump from ever being elected. The founders weren't fond of mob rule.

janmcn 11-18-2016 02:37 PM

The 'protective' press pool, established as a result of JFK's murder, will be abolished after over fifty years in existence.

They gave us a close-up view of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan and W Bush being informed of the World Trade attack, but Trump sees no need for it. It's a waste of money.

So they will hang a 'gone fishin' sign on their office and let Trump fend for himself.

Don't you have to at least be accused of a crime before you receive a presidential pardon? Are we still a country that has due process? How about innocent until proven guilty?

No, you do not have to be indicted to be pardoned. And the president can pardon himself also.

So if a person is not indicted, what would they be pardoned for? Are you saying the president could issue 300 million pardons to every man, woman and child in the US and say just stick this in your pocket in case you need it before you die?

jimbo2012 11-19-2016 06:19 PM

I understand it this way

Mr. X is pardoned from any criminal acts defined or not before this date.

Amazingly enough...that is correct.

The precedent was actually set back in the Civil War era and was a question being floated...when Bush left office.

Can President Bush pardon people who haven't even been charged with a crime?

Quote:

Wait—can a president really pardon someone who hasn't even been charged with a crime?

Yep. In 1866, the Supreme Court ruled in Ex parte Garland that the pardon power "extends to every offence known to the law, and may be exercised at any time after its commission, either before legal proceedings are taken, or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment." (In that case, a former Confederate senator successfully petitioned the court to uphold a pardon that prevented him from being disbarred.)

Generally speaking, once an act has been committed, the president can issue a pardon at any time—regardless of whether charges have even been filed.

Which brings up an interesting scenario.

Suppose Obama 'pardons' every undocumented person in the country (regarding being here illegally)...on the day he leaves office?

What then?

Funny that you mention that. If you read your current events, you will see that he is thinking of pardoning 750K illegal aliens. He is just wondering how to go about it. He can not give a blanket pardon. It has to be specific by individual name. He has a lot of work to do in order to get it done, and we all know he prefers to play or campaign than to do his work. I am sue he will find some staff to do all the foot work so he can just sign his name to it later.
