They have the right to ask us to leave Iraq. After all, wasn't part of the mission to get rid of Saddam and to put democracy and self-government in Iraq? It is their free country and their government has asked us to leave. After all, we wanted them to have self-choice.

You are so obviously wrong. When a country has been defeated it has historically been for us to occupy for a lengthy time to make sure that said country doesn't conveniently slip into their old ways. That is why the USA has occupied Japan, Germany, South Korea etc.

This is a new Obama policy which could come back and bite us in the a**.

Good sense of humor, Village Golfer. Your sarcasm had me going for a minute until I realized what you were really saying. I agree with you on that. How many billions of dollars have we wasted in keeping soldiers in Germany and Japan for 66 years? Right on the money with your post.

you know I really think that your hatred for the Presidnt has affected your ability to present a cogent explaination on any of the issues facing us. It doesn't matter what the subject you are there blaming criticizing and offering nothing constructive to the post board. In your small world Obama is to blame for all ills. Too bad that such a narrow-minded approach leads to a paralasis of thought.

Blind Faith in your president causes the same thing. Blind Faith is narrow minded, too.

I knew you would simply love the "mission accomplished" statement. That's why I wrote it. Thanks for not disappointing me, I appreciate it.

The magnanimity was in the way we did what we did. I wasn't evaluating the reasons. Whatever you want to say of the mission, we freed them, but did not conquer.

You're really flying in your post and seem unable to stay on topic, namely Iraq and the pullout (ejection?), but I can't blame you. You may still be suffering from BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) and I do have some sympathy for those in that condition. Hopefully it will ease with time and distance. We can only hope so.

I am so flattered that you think enough of me to write things JUST for me. You take time out of your day to be concerned enough about how I will react to you. Did not know I was that powerful. YES!!! Right..like I believe that is why you wrote that. Your delusions about the Shrub are pathetic. You would not recognize a Shrub move if it hit you in the face. You can not even acknowledge that he got us into this mess and oh yeah....he could not think of ONE LITTLE thing he ever did wrong. Just like you....

I meant "you" in the collective sense. "You" as representative of those with full blown Bush Derangement Syndrome that clouds the mind. I see your fever is still at record levels.

If you were just able to hear this conversation for even a minute through the haze of your BDS fog, you would realize that we were talking about the present, and the ramifications of our coming "ejection" from Iraq. The representative self-governance that we taught, and built, and gave the Iraqis is the reason they can now decide that they want us to leave them to decide their own fate at this time.

Are they ready for this, and can they hold onto their freedom with all the radical Sharia loving radicals in their midst; and all the freedom crushing regimes that are their neighbors who want to control the fortunes of this energy and mineral rich country?

We could have controlled it if we weren't who we are as a country and merely conquered Iraq. The U.S. doesn't do that and so we are at this crossroads. We cannot even demand reparations and/or gratitude for our endeavors as that is also for the Iraqis to decide with their newfound self governance.

That was the conversation at hand. NOW, if you want to go forward with your irrelevant tirade, in relation to this thread, against the former president; that is also your right. We are a free people, after all.

The blame Bush crowd is becoming unwound. The very thought that this regime will have to take responsibility and this moron in the White House now has a miserable record that he will have as his burden in this election. It is always easy to blame others for your deficiencies.

Isn't that the liberal mantra? No accountability necessary. Victim mentality. Participation ribbons instead of trophies so no ones feelings are hurt...aka no accountability to excell...no accountability to overcome, no accountability to provide for one's own self....blah,blah,blah. Sickening to say the least.
Then the least amount of advice offered up to empower people to be successful, self sufficient, owners of their own destiny and human dignity...shot down as judgmental and unsympathetic and uninformed...Painted into a corner and not interested in how to get out. Preferring to curse the darkness rather than take the lit candle, heck-spotlight! that is offered. whatever.............

VillageGolfer, in the slight chance (or no chance, according to some) IF Obama does succeed in winning the Presidency in 2012 again, what are you planning on doing? Will you continue with your remarks for 4 more years on this forum; will you continue to live in this wonderful community; will you move to another country; or will you go along and agree that the Democrats won again - fair and square?

Just kind of curious - in case the unthinkable (for you) happens in November.

Maybe I'll do what Alex Baldwin said he would do if Bush beat Gore, you know, leave the country. Oh wait, Baldwin didn't leave and stayed here and complained for 8 years. What a guy. Well, not a bad idea...

What will you do if your hero goes down in defeat? Leave this wonderful conservative community? Complain for 4 years?
