Only a Troll would make up a fictitious thread to get attention. And then, when no one responds, he replies to himself....more than once. Then deny having been on here before and expect everyone to believe that. I may be old, but I know a troll when it sounds off from his mother's basement.

I'm leaving to go vote down at Laurel Manor. I'll let you all know if I run into any confused Canadians. I haven't met one yet, so I'll certainly look around. I will probably only run into a bunch of Republican voters, because Democrats have not been turning out this year to vote. Can't really blame them. All they have to choose from is a criminal and a commie. The two "C's." My wife voted earlier today and said there was a line.

I will accept that the Trump supporter ignorantly informed the Canadian of the possibility that he could vote with just a Villages ID and a signature. And as some Guest earlier pointed out, even an attempt to vote would not have succeeded. However the rest of the story does contain a very clear violation of Florida law.
It is a violation to solicit within 100 feet of the doorway to a polling location. There should have been signs placed indicating the boundary beyond which solicitation would be legal. If, as alleged, a Trump supporter was manning the door while soliciting votes, that is illegal. Certainly a person can help with the door but not with the purpose of representing the campaign or attempting to influence voters.
No person, political committee, or other group or organization may solicit voters inside the polling place or within 100 feet of the entrance to any polling place, a polling room where the polling place is also a polling room, an early voting site, or an office of the supervisor of elections where absentee ballots are requested and printed on demand for the convenience of electors who appear in person to request them. Before the opening of the polling place or early voting site, the clerk or supervisor shall designate the no-solicitation zone and mark the boundaries.

Also a bit off topic and also from the chit-chat lounge:

"Has anyone else seen a black panther??? Omg seen one sitting on my villa wall!! Green eyes big black tail!!! I know the difference from a cat and this"

Last time I saw one was 2008 outside a polling place intimidating little old ladies.

What happened did happen you can't handle the truth. You are so far off base you even got the sex of the "troll" wrong.

My mother died many years ago and I moved out of her house long before that. I now have 2 mortgage free homes because everyone needs a summer home to escape the heat here.

Yes, of course. And yet, you didn't know that you have to be registered to vote and that a Canadian wouldn't even be on the registry.

SO, I just returned from early voting and I have a short story to tell you. This is a True one though. When I was leaving, a couple of campaigners in the parking lot were joking around with me, because I had my military cap on :super:. They asked me if I voted twice. And yes, they were laughing. They enjoyed my response that "Of course not, I am not a Democrat." They laughed. So, I doubt they were serious about voting twice. A sense of humor is something that seems in short supply when it comes to liberals.

I went to vote as well today but whoever advised the Canadian he could vote with just his Villages ID was totally wrong.

You have to have a signature id as well which they compare to your signature on file.

Negatory. The poll worker has you sign on the machine in order to see if it matches the one on your ID. Your signature is not on file anywhere for comparison.

Q: How do you tell the difference between a liberal and a conservative?
A: Easy. Watch a man drowning fifty feet offshore.
The conservative will throw out 25 feet of rope and shout "swim for it!"
The liberal will toss out 50 feet of rope, drop his own end, and go off to do another good deed.

And the right wing doesn't care about the nonexistent voter fraud problem but they do care about suppressing voter turnout.

You means like the black panthers do for which party?? I can't remember? O what party was that??? The one that controls well every every branch of government including justice department.

How did they know it was a Trump supporter?

Have you voted early yet? The only supporters of a candidate with signs at Laurel Manor are Trump supporters. If they are at Laurel Manor, it isn't much of a stretch to believe that they are at other polling stations.

You can tell a Trump supporter by that dumbfounded look on their faces.

I think you might have missed this line in my original post:

I told him the ID might be a valid ID for voting he would NOT be able to vote in Florida because he was not registered to vote.

Try again....
