Actually, they are supposed to have originated in Turkey. Turkey considers itself to be Eastern Europe, not Middle Eastern. But, one person's Arab is another person's Turk, I guess. Most of the stuff I had in Turkey was called "Kabab" and was a bit different because of the lack of the "shish" part, I guess. I have to say that they had the best bread I have ever had, and I have traveled a bit of the world. But, I digress....sorry.

You're right, Turkey is considered Eastern Europe and kabobs moved on from there. But the point is Turkey is 98% Muslim, hence the fallacy that they don't eat barbecue. BTW, the best kabobs for barbecuing (grilling I found out from my Memphis neighbor) are from Fresh Market.

I picked up some long flat skewers from Armenia that resemble swords in size, for my BBQ. I've been smoking ribs and roasts and haven't had a chance yet to try them out yet. There I go, digressing. Good question. I believe someone said Obama couldn't be Muslim because he enjoys BBQ. Of course, smoked brisket is dynamite BBQ if done right, and a Muslim would probably die for it.. I wonder if they would still be awarded a few virgins if they went that way?

I didn't want to bring that up, but I believe you are right. I do not think he is interested in females at all. But, I thought that I was the only one that seemed to notice that he seems to be attracted more to males. Maybe that is why the Mrs. treats him more like a brother than a lover in public. She knows. But, I have to be careful or a liberal will say that I "hate" him. That is their catch all response when they have no logical answer or defense for the worst past six years in American history.
