The speaker was actually from the Midwest , had no relationship to Vermont. The point missed was in any interaction we need to find common ground. I know you love this country as do I.

Common ground? The muslims have been at it with Israel for how many generations? And Americans are going to find common ground? While he was over there giving lip service he might have mentioned what the USA has done for Muslim countries. Does this guy hate America??? It wouldn't hurt to mention the blood and guts that have been spilled for their countries. I think he has a bee under his bonnet for our allies, the Israels.

At the very least you and I share some very basic common ground.. the Villages, Florida, USA. It might all we have, but it is something.

Whats the problem.
Seems paranoid setting in.
Obama is the President
If you disagree with what he is doing elect a Palin - Limbaugh or someone else in 2012, until then God Bless America
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean that I am wrong about him.

That's what the national morality seems to have deteriorated to, and that runs counter to the teachings of Christianity, Judaism, Hindu, Buddhism and Islam.

So, what's left?
That sounds like the church of the Ultra-Liberal to me.

If Obama and his Congress of cronies have their way, we won't have a chance to elect Palin or Limbaugh or anybody else for that matter in 2012. Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. introduced H. J. Res. 5, a bill that would repeal the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office, thus potentially paving the way to make Barack Obama president for life. Not surprisingly, the media, currently caught up in Obama mania, has not covered this story. Before you know it, the whole constitution will be rewritten.

He said its also ok for Iran to have neuclear weapons!! is he real?? he is destroying this country!! He is ripping apart America going on an apology tour! We are being seen as WEAK. The terrorists will continue sneaking in our country through the borders and it's a matter of time before we're attacked again. I'm happy i am the age i am now and have no grandchildren. I have no idea what America was thinking when they voted in a man who does not even love America but goes around apologizing that we are an arrogant nation. God help us. cc
Conservative Chick,

I can't resist replying:

First, a factual correction: Obama never said that we were a Muslim country.

As to your other points: The fact is that George W. Bush (for whom, unfortunately, I voted the first time he ran) left this country in a shambles-- both domestically and internationally. Unlike you, I do have grandchildren. I am quite thankful for their sake, as well as my own, that we now have a President who understands the issues, can actually speak about them intelligently, and seems to have the ability to turn things around. Why don't you give him a chance?

Yes, he can read a teleprompter. I would say that running a bill through congress, who didn't even take the time to read it, that will put the national dept through the hemosphere, possibly leading to more massive layoffs, massive inflation, a much poorer nation and debt that will probably be paid for in the next century, an end to capitalism as we know it, socialism, government controlled media....and countless violations on our rights......yes...you want shambles? You ain't seen nothing yet!!!!!!

Are you serious? Until he stops blaming Bush, he can never do the job that he need to do. I predict that he will never stop.

To stay on the subject, I never heard the President say that we were a muslim country.

To those who support the President in your comments, I respect you but call to your attention that the only positive thing you mention is his public speaking and you always seem to mention Bush.

I mention this because I admire his speaking ability...it is actually fantastic but actions will dictate his success to me anyway. I agree that Bush had not ability to be able to communicate much of anything.

I just ask you to do what I have asking....dont listen to what he says..watch what he does !

If there are some positive things he has done that you agree with then come on and post your support. I use this board to learn things from folks who disagree with me, to investigate what they say.

Default I am on an ongoing basis amused...no moved to hysterics

by those who will appeal to give BHO an chance.....and espouse "...after all he is our president..." and then in mid sentence turn around and trash Bush.....as they did consistently and regularly when he was president. And please don't insult the thinking crowd by trying to indicate he was given a chance.
Can you spell hypocrite? From the dictionary (paying particular attention to #2):

hypocrite
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
— hypocrite adjective

The philosophy used is if it ain't your guy you are against it.....sounds very Nancy Pelosi like....her stated (by her) approach is if it is an issue or agenda either from or for the opposition she is against it.

They also have a tendency to be able to look in one direction...backwards.
They have little or no ability to measure or contribute to an issue without launching into a Bush-bash mode.

Freedom of speech...of course...please have a ball while it is still allowed....added value = zero!

BHO is still on honeymoon. Let's see where he is and how much better off we are at the time of his first State of the Nation (the real one that comes annually...not the feel good readings along the way).

He does have stage presence. He can read a speech well. He tells folks what they want to hear.

Thus far, like all politicians, little has come down to we the people...and masters of flinging BS on the wall and being smart enough to leave before it dries and falls off!!!

Ah for a good discussion on the merits of an issue without a polarized, biased backward reaching, no value added....catharsis!!!

Another factual correction to Conservative Chick's post, President Obama never said, or even implied, that it is okay for Iran to have a nuclear bomb. Quite to the contrary. Furthermore, let's remember that Iran developed its nuclear program while Bush was so tied down with his ill-advised war in Iraq that he couldn't do anything about it.

By the way, I am a registered middle-of-the-road Republican, not a left winger. However, Bush and his right-wing cohorts made such a complete a mess of things that this country, at least in my view, needed a complete change. I voted for Obama because, despite his rather suspect background, he seemed intelligent, imaginative, and most important, willing to listen to other viewpoints. But primarily, I voted for Obama because McCain would have been 4 more years of the same and Palin was patently unqualified, by either background or intellect, to be Vice President.

So far, Obama seems to be making the right moves. Certainly his Middle East Let's give him a chance.

"despite his rather suspect background"...."needed a complete change"..."Palin was patently unqualified" [/quote]

His background was squashed by the main-stream media...they still haven't found a legitimate birth certificate. Oh, were getting a change alright, but it may be an unwelcome change. Sarah Palin has executive experience as a governor and her intelligence is superior to Joe Biden. All of this is, of course, my own opinion.
