Obama did not save the auto industry, he saved the Union.

You are absolutely right, President Obama did save the United States when his administration was responsible for saving the American auto industry. Just think how many millions of jobs would have been lost if the auto industry went bankrupt.

He robbed bond holders and rewarded unions,Real fair to those holding them.Some were lifetime gm employees and needed the income.

And Mitt Romney's plan would have been much better....."Let Detroit Go Bankrupt".

pure crap. The auto industry would have straightened itself out. It might not have been as big as it is for a long time, but it would not have disappeared.

Maybe the Unions would have suffered greatly though, and that is what the bailout was all about.

The automotive industry would have continued and General Motors and Chrysler would still be with us. They would have gone through bankruptcy and the bond holders would have owned them. Just as Sears, K-Mart, United Airlines, Delta, Northwest and American Airlines are still with us. What Obama did was put out eighty billion dollars of taxpayer dollars that we will never see again to buy union votes.

First, Moraine is NOT in Michigan but is in Ohio.

Secondly, the reason cited by GM for the closing was, " "On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008, GM Chairman Rick Wagoner announced the Moraine plant would close in December, citing high fuel prices and decreased demand for the SUV and trucks produced by the plant."

I was not able to read the WSJ article as it is a subscription site.


Anyhow, the attached link will explain the auto industry better than I ever could. Of course, the wubers will not believe one word of it as their collective heads are buried in the sand.
