I think the political acrimony began well before Iraq. It had festered during the Clinton years and came of age during the last two presidential elections with what happened in Florida and Ohio.

It, in my opinion, is not the fault of one party or the other...they are both to blame. They continue to put party before country and we continue to send them back to Washington.

I must agree with you. I think it is time to get rid of all the incumbents. We have crooks on both sides of the aisle, House of Reps and Congress. One term and out.

The political climate is the way it is today because no one can let go of the fact that Algore lost in 2000. The Dems and others have done nothing but denigrate this President into the ground since he won and even more so when he was REELECTED. Lots of Dems were as responsible for going into Iraq as President Bush but they cower and hide their eyes when it comes to taking responsibility. The Iraq War issue is just an excuse to draw hatred for our President instead of continuuing to harp on the 2000 election debacle. A copout at best!

I agree with you !!! Actually I agreed with the invasion of Iraq and still think it was the right thing to do, and not only that, I believe with all the bellyaching going on history will prove it to be a GREAT move. Having said that I think it was the worst managed invasion I have ever seen and thus our problems.

My point, however, is that to make your point SIDBFOREVER..a few years ago, President Bush came out and talked about the Social Security problem. He offered a suggestion about privatization, BUT IN THE SAME BREATH SAID HE SAID HE WANTED A DEBATE ON THE SUBJECT AND WANTED TO HEAR OTHER SUGGESTIONS.
The Democratic reponse was to ridicule him and say there was not problem with SS and he was being stupid.
All of a sudden we have a campaign and we have a problem with Social Security.
