Default Wikileaks....

The White House did NOTHING...NOTHING to try and stop the leaks from coming out.

WHY ?

Their is no outrage toward our Secy of State or the WH on what is contained in those leaks.

WHY ?

I ask you to simply imagine what the press would be doing to that "cowboy" from Texas who according to them destroyed how the world thought of us....hmmmmmm

Recall that 60 BILLION dollars worth of sophisticated weapons that we sold to Saudi Arabia a few weeks ago....

This from the Wikilieaks....

"Saudi Arabia is the world's largest source of funds for Islamist militant groups such as the Afghan Taliban and Lashkar-e-Taiba – but the Saudi government is reluctant to stem the flow of money, according to Hillary Clinton.

"More needs to be done since Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaida, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups," says a secret December 2009 paper signed by the US secretary of state. Her memo urged US diplomats to redouble their efforts to stop Gulf money reaching extremists in Pakistan and Afghanistan."

Isnt the wind of change just wonderful ? Arent you glad we have a WH that said they would do things differently ?

While we, and rightfully so, have our shorts filled with congressional spending, the "bad guys" are just strangling us. Guess it what gets us first....total economic disaster, OR....as we are being destroyed from within these outside forces that are just plain working us !

Where is the media ? Why is this stuff not broadcast over and over like Obama speeches ?

The less movement I see, the more it starts to smell. What are they up to?

Explain to me how a U.S. organization is supposed to "stop" an Australian citizen in charge of a Swedish company running operations on various European ISPs? Especially when they have no idea what it is that's coming out?

But you're right - still no comment from Hillary Clinton regarding her push to make U.S. diplomats spy on the U.N., in direct violation of treaty.

Cannot explain how, but can tell you that the US government is now AT LEAST TRYING...which they did not do earlier !

From TODAYS news...TODAY...

"Washington (CNN) -- Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday that he has authorized "significant" actions related to the criminal investigation of WikiLeaks as the website faces increasing pressure worldwide for publishing sensitive U.S. diplomatic cables.

"National security of the United States has been put at risk," Holder said. "The lives of people who work for the American people have been put at risk. The American people themselves have been put at risk by these actions that I believe are arrogant, misguided and ultimately not helpful in any way. We are doing everything that we can."

I'm wondering exactly who has been put in danger. Diplomatic cables don't put the troops in danger. We haven't seen anyone showing examples of spies being named like in the Plame case - though with a quarter million cables to sift through, it could be a tough find.

Personally, I think the various governments have a lot of egg on their faces. The private who leaked these has to be prosecuted for the crimes he committed but it *does* seem to be a bit like a "whistleblower" here.

Who did more damage? The private who leaked the information or Clinton for telling our diplomats to spy on the U.N. (just to pick an easy-to-understand example)?

Default The media's play is to get folks to miss the point(s) of value

being exposed by playing the focus they are presenting.

The global political game being played should generate some concern....I would think!

We the people on a global scale all have a similar problem....how and where we rank in the eyes and actions of current day officials (I am purposely avoiding using the term leaders!!!).

If this happened on the previous presidents watch, I am betting you would have no trouble finding the "danger" ! I recall all of you on the left saying how, over years, he had ruined our reputation around the world...BUT of course this particular thing doesnt count to you !

Ok, for the umpteenth time...

I defended Bush rather vigorously against ridiculous accusations from 'the left' (and the loonies).

I was, however, outraged at Bush for not following through on his threat to fire whomever would be fingered as being the one who outed Valerie Plame. That's a specific case of putting someone in danger. Not only did he NOT fire the guy who turned out to be responsible, he was almost pressured into pardoning him! (Credit to him that he didn't, though). Partisan ethics again.

One of my hot buttons is double-standards.

Remember the Pentagon Papers? The people who leaked THAT information (about our government lying to us) were hailed as heroes.

djp--- Richard Armitage was never convicted. For some reason his "outing" of Valerie Plame was never persued. Special prosecutor Fitzgerard knew before his investigation started that Armitage was the guilty party, but he put on his witch hunt anyway. Don't worry about Valerie. She has become a millionaire becasue of her "outing."

If we want to keep our nation's secrets 'SECRET,' store them where President Obama stores his college transcripts and birth certificate., no one can crack that secret
