That’s all you have is hope because you are incapable of taking action.

The Museum and Library Services Act of 2017 (S. 2271) has been introduced by Senators Jack Reed (D-RI), Susan Collins (R-ME), Thad Cochran (R-MS), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). The 2017 MLSA reauthorizes the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), showing congressional support for the federal agency. IMLS administers funding through the Library Services Technology Act (LSTA), the only federal program that exclusively covers services and funding for libraries. The LSTA provides more than $183 million for libraries through the Grants to States program, the National Leadership Grants for Libraries, the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, and Native American Library Services.

If passed, MLSA would send a strong message from Congress recognizing the important role libraries play in every community across the country. Please call your Senators and ask them to show their support of libraries by cosponsoring MLSA.

For more information, check out the latest District Dispatch post, take a look at the press release, or read about the history of MLSA.
Write your Senator about this. Your Federal one. Send a Message

What you can do:

Contact your Senators and urge them to show support for libraries by becoming a cosponsor of S. 2271. Tell them how your library supports the constituents of their state, and tell them how LSTA funds enable your library to offer valuable services to your community

Feel free to contact these people on my behalf. Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home

Even if someone is inclined to do this on your behalf, take note of what it says in the FAQ section of this website -

Q: How does the IC3 define Internet crime?
Internet crime includes any illegal activity involving one or more components of the Internet, such as websites, chat rooms, and/or email. Internet crime involves the use of the Internet to communicate false or fraudulent representations to consumers. These crimes may include, but are not limited to, advance-fee schemes, non-delivery of goods or services, computer hacking, or employment/business opportunity schemes.

How does what you are alleging fall into the categories of internet crime that they list above?

If you want anyone to take you seriously, you need to do better research before posting the things you post. If the FBI got a report on what is happening on this website, I am certain it would be immediately filed - in the trash! But if you want me to verify that, I could check with a couple of neighbors of mine in the know having worked for the FBI most of their careers.

No worries. I will self-report and hand deliver it to one of my neighbors. :ohdear:

But seriously, I have so many people who could vouch for my technology illiteracy that it would be immediately filed - in the trash!

Introduction to Legal Research Resources
| Yale Law School Library

What you could find in a library is still vastly different than what you could find online. And what you would have access to as well.

Libraries are cornerstones of democracy. Benjamin Franklin understood that and business leaders in 2017 probably do too like Bill Gates.

Fairly interesting stuff.
