I got my first house with a loan underwritten (guaranteed) by the Veterans Administration. That was a big help from the Government. This was because I was a veteran. My father got his first house with a VA loan, also, because he was a veteran.

How do any posters on this forum think that Mitt Romney could have any empathy for the middle class? Did he ever have to get a mortgage on any of his six mansions? Did he ever have to apply for a college loan? He recently told a group of young people if they needed money for college or to start a business to "borrow it from their parents". What planet does he live on?

Any person with a half a brain knows business people were successful for thousands of years and long before the government was involved. Anyone with half a brain also knows the government can't do ANYTHING that isn't paid for off the back of others hard work.. namely taxes collected, most of which they waste. Last night on NBC Nightly News when Brian Williams asked him if he was looking for a boring guy for VP, Romney responded by saying "Yes, but I heard you're not available, Brian...heh heh heh". How crass.
