Default Course Conditions Palmetto

Played Palmetto yesterday for the first time in ten days. Condition was deplorable. Greens were punched which is necessary. However all of the grass was scraped so you are putting on dirt. Add the sand mix to the fold and your probably putting the worst Exec greens in The Villages. To make matters worse, they also aerated and scraped the tees. What a mess. My suggestion is to stay away for at least 2-3 weeks.

Why bitch about normal course maintenance? Damned if they do damned if they don't.

Simply commenting on course conditions. There is a right and wrong way to maintain a course specifically green aerofication. Probably could have been done better.

There is an aerification schedule available for both executive and championship courses.

I tried to get a tee time at Palmetto yesterday and it was closed because they were aerating the greens - terrible timing because I wanted to play there.
I know it’s routine course maintenance, but they can do better.
(NOTE: this is parody)......

Well aware of the schedule. Have played following aeration many times. Unfortunately these greens were not just aerated and sanded, they were scraped to the point where there is very little grass on any of the greens. The same is true for the tees. Course should be closed for 10-14 days to try and get their grass back. Suspect that won’t happen.

That is odd. I played there this past Wednesday and the greens were already aerated. Played there yesterday also. They are starting to improve.

They don't "scrape" the tees or greens. They remove the plugs from aeration and level out the topdressing.

For some reason the three courses west of Buena Vista and south of 466A, Mangrove, Sweetgum, and Palmetto have struggled with greens issues since they opened. Those courses are close to me and I like the layouts but it does seem as though they are closed or subpar an inordinate amount of the time.

You guys do realize if they don’t perform these practices there would be no golf courses for everyone to play on right? Just as it was said earlier, damned if you do damned if you don’t.

Played Palmetto yesterday. Greens and fairways were good. Greens were slow-very slow, but good condition.
Tee boxes were terrible. I'm guessing several will need new sod when the rains finally start coming. Wish they had or used multiple tee boxes.
