I purchased the Villages GPS app. Looks pretty - but - just can’t get what I need from it.... it is probably there - but, not figuring it out. For example, if I want to take the my golf cart to Walmart Marketplace - in The Villages - - I just can’t type in the destination Walmart Marketplace ..... and have the closest one pop up - in fact - when I enter ‘Walmart Marketplace’ The Villages Walmart Marketplace doesn’t even display in the list.

FYI - I have contacted most of the geo coding providers (eg OpenStreetMaps, SmartyStreets, etc (data providers to the GPS apps)) and my new address (or at least my street)- has been added. I am now discoverable by most of the big GPS apps.

I have found that from The Villages app - the ‘Destinations’ link has been very helpful and it has not had any issues recognizing my home in a brand new section of The Villages. I go the the Walmart Marketplace in ‘Destinations’ and select Golf Cart directions - and it pops up my exact path - easy and exactly what I am looking for.

Here are a few tips for Searching especially in the newer sections.

If you are searching for a specific address... type in the city name Wildwood instead of The Villages.
We aren't able to change that because TV bought those areas from Wildwood and it will take a while for that to change.

With the Name of a place, type in the name of the place and make sure to type in either The Villages or Wildwood after and they will show up.

Another Tip:
Some people are trying to use Point to Point for actual directions..
Point to Point is just a bonus feature we added only meant to get directions from two different places that you’re Not currently at.

When you click start it gives you the option to see the time and distance it takes to get from those two places by golf cart or automobile.

This is Not Navigation Directions…

To get Directions with Navigation… Find the place you want to go to and once you find it, click directions by Automobile or Golf Cart.

Now you are good to go.

Sound Tip:
Your phone has 2 different volume settings.

1. Make sure your Mute button on your phone is off.

2. Turn up your Volume as high as possible before opening the app.

3. Start a route from your home or wherever you are.

4. After you click “Start” and it shows the route, turn up your volume again.

Now you are good to go.
