Is it possible to download the Villages GPS from my phone to a Garmin GPS ?

No. If you have not yet purchased the unit, check their website, as I recall they have a Garmin for bikes that might provide suitable directions for your golf cart, I am assuming that is why you want the Villages GPS app.

The Villages GPS does use a lot of battery power. Assuming the poster wants to reserve his battery for other functions of his cell phone, it'd make sense to have a dedicated GPS device instead.

What you could consider is resurrecting an old smart-phone that you don't use anymore. Turn it into a GPS/mp3 player. Doesn't use data so it doesn't matter if you already took the SIM out.

Or simply put a phone charger in your cart/car.
