It does allow you to do that. You (and everyone else who's new to the app) should definitely click the "tutorial" box (between "Activity & Club" and "More Info").

There are basically three ways to get the GPS to get you from point A to point B:

1. Click on the boxes related to the category you're trying to reach (shopping, country clubs, etc), and find the one you want, and then click on it. This will give you directions from "where you currently are" to "your selected destination."

2. Use the magnifying glass at the upper left corner of the app page and type in an address. This will give you directions from "where you currently are" to "your selected destination."

3. Use the "point to point" option in "More Info" to type in two different addresses. You'll get a map showing how to get from point A to point B. It will not give you GPS directions, because you won't BE at either of those locations when you select this option.

You must have "location services" running on your device, for either 1 or 2 to work. It can't tell you whether or not to take a left, if you don't allow it to know where you are.

In spite of what a certain Troll is saying, it’s not a monthly charge, but a one time fee of $7 bucks. He is Fake News of The Villages giving out misinformation. You can go on the site and contact them.

There is no monthly fee for the Villages GPS. You pay for the app download to whichever device you want it on, and that's it. Upgrades and updates are included in the $7 cost. But this is per device. If you want it to be on two cell phones, you have to pay for each download.

Well, since they don't charge a monthly fee, I'd venture to guess that no one could pay one...

Sure, your "Hopefully no one" post was completely unnecessary, since the discussion is about The Villages GPS (not some old archaic APP that you don't even know if is still around), yet you posted it anyway...

Seems your initial "off topic" post caused some confusion...

Mr. Helpful wasn't very helpful in this case...

The Villages GPS app is wonderful! It’s easy to read and very intuitive. Recently they were hacked and the app was down. But they had it up and running again in a very short time.. Great app and well worth every penny!
