OK, I get the general point there as a way of JUSTIFYING the conclusion expressed in the original thread that "Cooling is coming". Just mix together a nice WORD SALAD of this CYCLE and that CYCLE and come to whatever conclusion suits you. Sure, MAYBE (?) the mixed CYCLE SALAD sets up the earth to start cooling in about 2190. Then Our great-grandchildren may be talking in forums about the Global Cooling that is taking place.

But, today right now, in REAL America and REAL earth ........REAL scientists are WARNING (to deaf ears of the LAY people) that Global Warming is a REAL event that has been proven by Climatologists. They have done this through years of observation. The climate NOISE of conflicting CYCLES is overcome by observations of both long-term and short-term trends of KEY indicators. One such indicator would be direct temperature measurement at many points around the globe. Another would be ocean temperatures around the earth. Another would be changes in ocean CO2. Another would be the study of coral reefs - which are predicted to be DOWN to only 15% of live coral by 2100. Another indicator would be tree ring analysis. Another would be upper atmosphere measurements of CO2, which is increasing and forming a HEAT blanket. Another indicator is something that every layperson in the world knows..........that old-growth forests around the world are being removed at an alarming rate - the Amazon is one example. Another indicator is that TUNDRA in Russia and elsewhere is burning and releasing MORE excess CO2. Another would be the Chinese middle class driving more automobiles and producing MORE EXCESS CO2. Another would be earthworms moving further northward into Canada and elsewhere. Another factor is world population increase since 1800 by a factor of 8 times.

There are many other indicators that could be researched. BUT, the final conclusion is that over 90% of climate scientists believe that the earth will continue to HEAT up for the next 30 years.

When people do NOT like the message, they shoot the messenger. That happened in the past with Ak Gore. The oil and gas lobby did NOT like the message.

Global warming has been stirred into a world panic. REALITY is well real. First of all even the label is spun. It is no longer GLOBAL WARMING, it is now CLIMATE CHANGE. Reality is climate is always changing. I recall going to the Museum of Natural History they had a cross section of a Giant Sequoia tree rings were marked for events in history. They also pointed out that some years the growth rings were wider indicating more growth due to more favorable weather. Roughly 40 years ago the concern was global cooling. Without Al Gore paying for his huge home telling the rest of us we should it NATURALLY evolved into global warming.

I can honestly SCREAM that my carbon footprint is far less than it used to be and that is true.
Also, true is the fact that I am retired and no longer producing anything.

They aren't talking about the CO2 carbon footprint -- they are talking about human footprints. Jacques Cousteau issued marching orders years ago at a 1991 UNESCO event where he said, "World population must be stabilized and to do that we must eliminate 350,000 people per day."

As I mentioned in a previous post CO does get converted to CO2. Carbon Monoxide becomes oxidized and a converts into CO2 contributing to global changes. Just like Carbon Monoxide detectors are placed towards the ceiling and not on the floors in homes CO is lighter than air

Not true. Here is what is misunderstood even by some scientists, especially those who say Climate Change is not Anthropogenic:

CO2 does not create heat so it does not cause the warming directly. It does it indirectly by blocking the escape of the earth's warming, which prevents its natural cooling. It is essentially a Greenhouse Effect, as the process is called. The energy, the metabolism if you will, of earth and its life forms gives off heat. The CO2 seals it in and this accumulation of warmth causes warming.

Sure. So ... how much did "man-made" CO2 warm the earth last year? Should be very easy to find via Google since everyone knows for sure that it is happening.
