So the 3 plus inches that was shown on my phone seems to be an accurate number (near Sawgrass). I have also noticed that the retention ponds are a little higher today - but still very low.

There is a significant variation in rain here. Up in prairie country a weather front can span three states and produce deluges spanning easily the width of Florida or better. Here, it can rain like crazy with no warning while a mile away--nothing, or a black cloud can sit ominously on the horizon for the better part of two days and not produce much of anything except an occasional lightning flash.
Takes some getting used to.
