Let's see, there were six officers who interacted with this victim. Of those six officers not a single one acted appropriately and all six have been charged with crimes. This is not a situation where one officer misbehaved and the other five attempted to correct his error, instead here is a simple interaction where every single cop failed in his or her duty, and the arrest was bogus as well. So painting with a broad brush might be appropriate to the circumstances in this case. And yes they are absolutely entitled to a vigorous defense. And I suspect they will all get off except for the failure to seat belt the victim, which is seemingly a very minor element of the charge. Our Supreme court has ruled that while I as a citizen am obligated to follow laws of which I am not aware "ignorance of the law is no excuse" they have done the exact opposite for cops. You know the group that is supposed to know the laws. Cops can act contrary to a law and that is ok as long as it was "in good faith".
