If you try Windows 10 you have thirty days to return to your former operating system with all your programs intact. You will have to reinstall your printer however.
I downloaded 10 to my 7 and to my husband's 8.1 and we both gave it a fair trial and both decided we preferred our old so I took them back and it went fine. No problems at all and it returns to the old faster. Good luck.
