Pres. Obama won TWICE while the teams of MCCain/Palin and Romney/Ryan lost. This means more than half of American voters voted for Pres. Obama rather than for Republicans.

George W also had the lowest approval rating during his term of any modern President - even lower than Jimmy Carter!
