While my father-in-law loves to call me the birdman, I know very little about birds. As my wife got very little sleep last night worrying about a Sandhill crane in our yard with a bad leg and as the bird had not moved an inch since last night, I called the District information center this morning to ask who to call. They directed me to call a wildlife center. The operator at the center stated that a call had been placed last night by a neighbor about this bird. In the meantime, someone placed a water bucket near the bird in our yard.

We are still waiting for the birdman/rescue person to arrive.
