The bird left sometime yesterday afternoon while we were away. Today, a very nice lady from the Humane Society stopped by to check on the situation and apologize for the slow response. She was very knowledgeable and told stories of some of her adventures with all types of animals. This particular bird has been reported several times in the past in this same area.
Many years ago before becoming familiar with deer habits, a fawn was born in our back yard. For a time, we thought that the mother had abandoned it or was possible killed. We now know that deer moms return after a time and don’t abandon their babies. Live and learn.
